I actually put Seoul on my world clock in my phone - along with a couple of Russian cities I order blades from. Always nice to know what time zone you're talking to.

I'm sure I got a regular doses of Clubman at the barber shop in my early years, and truthfully, that's why I like having it in my den. I went to real barbershops with my dad until I hit junior high school. He got to pick my hair cut styles, which included "high" and "tight." I eventually started paying for my own haircuts, so I moved up to hair stylists that looked like they just left a Boston concert. My ears and neck disappeared for a few years. I now go with my Bride to her "beauty shop" where I'm usually the only guy in the joint, there's some gal getting her nails done in the back, and it is a certifiable "Art of Manliness" free zone. They do have jars of Barbicide, but they wouldn't know Clubman from kerosene...not that there is a difference, really.

 

I pretty much do the same, Neal. I have local and Greenwich Mean Time on my computer and phone. It comes from years of being an amateur radio operator and working with folks all over the world. It sounds geeky, but it comes in handy sometimes.

 

I often wondered how you continue to look so beautiful, Charlie. Knowing that all you needed to do was go for to a shop for that explains a lot. I go to a barber, so beauty is a bit beyond my reach.

 

I get my haircut at the beauty parlor from the gentleman that cuts my wife's hair, Mr. Freddy. I kid, it's just Freddy. I got tired of the hit or miss haircuts I was getting from Sports Clips and the like. My wife talked me into going with her one time and he's been cutting my hair ever since.

Well, I think I am immune to your Shavette enabling...I have a CJB Kami I got from @Keithmax and while I enjoy using it on occasion, it appears I am an avowed safety razor guy. Now, if you were to focus your not-very-subliminal messaging on some vintage razors I don’t have, or select soaps and splashes, then you might as well be the Pied Piper...

PS: Just to put your 48lbs in perspective, a standard men’s shot put weights 16 lbs. You are carrying around ‘3 less shotputs’. Amazing.

 

I like to think I help my stylist keep her skills sharp, Randy. It would be similar to us O.G.'s shaving blindfolded with Irish Spring and a butter knife and getting a BBS shave.
