Doug the razor is made in Canada. The different plates have different blade gaps and exposures. They make A through F plates. A plate is the mildest and F plate is the wildest.

I ordered a Karve with a "D" plate. I also sold my last WDC-8 Brass brush handle. Love my Amigo brushes also.

I think you got the right plate. We both like many of the same razors. I couldn't decide and got the D, E and F. The D is my favorite and the E is my least loved.

I am interested in purchasing a Karve Razor, with a 3 1/2" handle and a B plate. Is there an online vendor, where you can request what you want? So far, I have only seen Karve Razors, as sets, with specific handles and plates. Also, I thought I'd seen an open comb Karve somewhere, but I cannot find it again. Am I mistaken?
Yeah, what they said. https://karveshaving.com/. You can select whatever handle/head configuration you want. And you can buy the individual parts separately. There is no open comb head that I know of. Maybe what you saw was a Karve handle on some other razor head? I seem to recall someone doing that with a Gillette New head.
