I’ve been shaving every 2nd day this week, so it has been 48+ hours since my last shave. I guess it also means there will only be one more shave after this one for the year.
Went with a full retro Spice combo earlier this afternoon. The NEW LC is as good as it gets for me and I whipped up an exceptional lather. I know most prefer tallow soaps -and I do as well- but this really is a quality product. Had 3 nice passes and left enough on the brush for at least 2 more. I don’t know how many days are on this PermaSharp, but it is still going strong. I think this is my last one, however I have ordered 100 from a vendor in Turkey that should be here sometime in January.
I did end up with a few weepers actually, but it was still a great feeling & close shave. Have a great evening all!

 

This is my son pressure washing the 55 Cub. We struck out on parts today but we got a few good leads that may work out. We did stop by a flea mall and a found a nice pottery bowl that will work out as a lathering bowl. I post some pics of it later.

Thanks Danny. They were made for each other on several levels. TSD member Tom @twhite made both. He's a machinist and wizard living in Burbank, California. Last he mentioned the shop where he works pinched off his access to the shop tools for side projects. Before that happened he made a batch of both The Bunny and the Rubberset 400 type brush handles. He's also produced a Single Edge razor (or two?) that's been seen here at TSD and across the street at TOST. The Bunny I posses was a slightly flawed unit - the handle is slimmer & shorter that the approved versions that went world wide in a Pass-Around couple years ago.

Thanks Jim! I was very pleased when Tom placed one in my hands. It's unique owning a prototype. Maybe one day Tom will arrange for them to be produced in a larger batch. They do give great shave. Closer than any Schick I currently own. Having three interchangeable open combs was ingenious on his part.

Good time had by all Charlie. As per my self directed gluttony plan, I always start with a spinach salad. Healthy right? It's all that stuff I pile on top of the dozen green leaves that balances it out. Garnishing the salad with popcorn shrimp, onion rings, and fried mushrooms over the shredded cheese, green & black olives, sunflower seeds, and ranch dressing totally negates any health benefits. There's probably some vitamins in there somewhere. The Diet starts tomorrow.

That's my current plan Jason. I do opt for the long haired hippy version - 5/8 or 3/4 inch using the home clippers.

You might try her on the high brow Canoe AS & Cologne. Very similar scent but in a classy bottle, sold at finer Walmarts everywhere.

Gary - were you watching me choose my "Get out and visit " clothes today? Levis 501 (faded but still black) jeans, a black tee shirt under a Dickies collared button down shirt, dark gray Cremieux London newsboy cap. I got a little wild with the camo socks and Doc Martin shoes.

 

Picked this up at flea mall today for $6.00. Marked " Hallelujah Pottery RG Sewanee TN 1995". Should make a mean lathering bowl. It is a little larger than a Salsa bowl.

Y'all mentioned several bands I liked back then that still get airplay on Oldies stations. Left out some of my favorites. Jethro Tull, Blue Oyster Cult, Yes, Ted Nugent, Electric Light Orchestra, Thin Lizzy, & The Who to name a few. I exposed my kids to those before they became "Oldies". In turn they enlightened me to Rancid, Cannibal Corpse, Local H, and Insane Clown Posse. I kind of miss living near Atlanta for the music scene.
