Especially at this time of year I listen to Jim Croce's It Doesn't Have To Be That Way. (A few references to Christmas).

My family had the pleasure of seeing Belafonte perform at a Washington, DC hotel(our first time as DC residents). Was probably around 1966, 67.

I saw him in concert up here once. I'm guessing that was mid-70s. Great singer and with a very warm and easy style with the audience.

Good blade holder. Next time you visit give it the serious eyeballing & offer them a fiver and see what happens?
One of the many bands I've seen perform live. This one still gives me goosebumps.

    Decadent December!!

    December 29, 2018

    Razor - 1947 Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade - [IMG] (3)
    Soap - Stirling Iced Pineapple
    Brush - Jayaruh #54
    Post - Alum

Another night with the Aristocrat and Voskhod. If that isn't enough decadence, how about throwing in a Jayaruh brush with Stirling Iced Pineapple? Enough? Yeah, I agree. I'm nearly out of the sample on this soap but it's ok. I have a full tub sitting on the shelf waiting to go. The JR54 was perfect in its lather production tonight. Definitely the usual slick and protective lather Stirling provides every time. And three passes of smooth Voskhod goodness brought the baby without any extra effort. After a rather maddening day at work I needed that zen time.

Have a great Sunday! Two more days in Decadent December and in 2018!! Looking forward to a new year!!

Today is the "vampire razor", this cool Robert Williams used to always draw blood with it's fangs. The deep jimps, thumbs and finger notches make this a breeze to handle so as long as I can maintain focus it delivers a great bloodless shave. I only use this razor when I have lots of time and today it delivered big time, smooth face and no blood.

    Nice Sunday morning...
    20181230_081458.jpg
Used the straight for the first pass this morning. Need more time to get it going, but better. 30 days should help on this. Lets call this Day 1.
I cleand up this Gillette tech and tried
    it out this morning, nice.
For the first time, in a long time, I used a blade other than a Feather. A 100 Polsilver blades were sitting on the shelf for almost 2 months. I tried one out this morning, different. The blade didn't give me that close on pass shave I'm expecting but after 3 passes on the face and 4 passes on the neck and chin, I think I'm where I like to be.
The old gord got 3 passes and it's close to normal, but could have used a 4th pass to seal the deal.
Wool Fat is not a favorite sent of mine, but does the job well and works great for the head shave.
I like the Gillette razor color even if the flash gold has worn off. I still have work on the handle threading to finish it, but that's for another day. 20181229_114756.jpg
A nice start to a Sunday.
    Enjoy!

Reknotted brush worked great as usual!

The soap continues to perform like I said in the review.

It takes more than a few straight razors to rattle a St. Louis crowd, even in St. Charles. Not trying to say things are a bit rougher here than most places but the local tough guys have been known to avoid using their guns and just insert the bullets manually instead.

I used to play on a few teams in a league part of the ada. I wasn’t terrible but I wouldn’t say I was good either, it was more for fun and a few nights out each week. But life got busier so I didn’t have time for it.
