    70's Sunday Shave

    Wild West Brushworks "Odin"
    Barrister and Mann Jacinthe Soap
    1970 P4 Gillette Knack Razor
1972 S2 Gillette "The Spoiler" Blade
    Barrister and Mann Jacinthe Aftershave
    Nivea Cooling Post Shave Balm

Close comfortable shave today with the Gillette Knack. First time using a Spoiler blade and wasn't sure what to expect. Good performance, although I felt a bit of tugging along the neck hairs. Still irritation free though.

The B+M Jacinthe is a great product. The soap lathered quickly with the WWB Odin brush and provided a slick and cushioned shave. Great post shave feel! The Jacinthe AS did its job and the scent reminds me of a walk through a crisp, damp garden with evergreens off in the distance.

    SHAVE OF THE DAY

    20181230_115241.jpg

    Prep: Pre Shave Soap Mix
    Razor: Wilkinson Sticky
    Blade: GSB
    Brush: Maggard 28mm Synthetic
    Soap: Wild West- 2017
Post: Ogallala Lime & Peppercorn A/S

Very nice refreshing shave early this morning. Really like that Wild West offers soap in 2oz tubs, practical and allows for more variety.

Scent of 2017 is: fir, pine, peppermint, apple, cranberry, vanilla, black current, bourbon, clove, cedar, and spices. To my nose it has a scent that is a bit reminicent of Dr. Jon's Cold Fall Morning. Perfect scent for Christmas time
2017 has a fruity spicy pine type of thing going on, one of my favorite scents from WW.

Performance is quite good. Whipped up a creamy lather with no problems, held a good amount of water this time without breaking down. Just kept working the lather untill it became the consistancy i prefer. The shave went well with no irritation or nicks. Finished off with Ogallala Lime & Peppercorn and can still detect the scent hours later. Hope everyone had a great shave!

    YESTERDAY'S SHAVE
    20181229_145227.jpg

    Prep: Pre Shave Soap Mix
    Razor: Wilkinson Sticky
    Blade: GSB
    Brush: Maggard 28mm Sythetic
    Soap: Southern Witchcrafts- Necromantic
Post: BW Peg Leg Nichols A/S

Amazing shave yesterday. Southern Witchcrafts is a artisan that has quickly became one of my favorites. Scents are nice and strong, unique and complex. Soap base is excellent and can compete with other top tier artisans. Have really been impressed with this base. Scent of Necromantic is fresh and earthy, reminds me a little bit of PAA La Tierra Mojada, both scents are different yet similar. Post residual slickness is off the charts IMO and lather has a rich creamy consistancy. Very happy with the results from this shave and hope you had a similar experience!

Pretty good one pass shave this morning, plus some touch ups. I'd class it as a Close, Comfortable Shave, but didn't wanna push it to for BBS. I'd usually do 3 passes but I'm just getting over the flu and felt a bit ill.

Most areas of my face feel smooth, until I run my fingers ATG. It's perfectly acceptable for sitting around the house.

Loving my little Simpson Classic 1 at the moment. Struggles to do 3 passes without a quick reload but does 2 no problem and can fit in a travel tube while we were visiting family over the holidays.

Also took the GOTTA back to my 12k, then paste and strop, so it's ready for later in the week. Felt nice and sharp and treetopped arm hair no problem so I'm looking forward to using it.

Same plan for Monday as today-but the brush will be Stoylin 26 mm Pro Handle. Tuesday finishes off the Stoylin Barbershop/Clubman threefer, but I'll do the menu anyway, in honor of the 2019 Stoylin Tony Awards. The award winner and runner-up comes first, though. I'm so excited!!

FDB2EAA7-5903-49CE-86FA-6B95B0D817EB.jpeg Hi folks, Good Afternoon. I haven’t been around very much, a lot has happened this year. It was a very difficult time for me. But be that as it may, I am glad to still be around. Certainly, it won’t last forever, but for now I continue to hang on. The introduction of a new medicine has given me a stay of execution, so to speak, and I am going to enjoy as much as I can, including our hobby, and the wonderful Shave Den Community that I have loved since I came aware of it.
Today’s SOTD was with my Rex Ambassador, a Bolzano Superinox Blade, maggards London Barbershop soap, a brief splash of Clubman Special Reserve, and a bit of Perry Ellis 360Blue.
As of right this month, I have had my Rex Ambassador for one year. In that time, I have used it almost 100 times. In my present condition, I cannot remove my oxygen cannula for more than 5 or 6 minutes. The Ambassador is truly a one pass razor, better than any razor I have ever used, and I have owned and used an example of every razor Gillette ever made. I love the vintage razors. I will always have them, and on good days, I do use them sometimes. But it is my honest opinion that the Rex Ambassador is clearly the best razor I have ever used. No bs. It is extremely efficient. I’m glad I got one.

I'm glad to hear your attitude and long may it continue.
If you like vintage razors and the Ambassador I'd recommend the Gibbs adjustable.
The blades need modifying with a punch but it's worth it, all the efficiency and smoothness but no drag.
Alternatively you can save the pennies on a punch and spend a fortune on the Personna Precision/Micrometric.
All the best for the future.
