I have tried to contact Kathleen at Route 66, but she hasn't responded yet.
She has liked a couple of my Tweets that had their soaps in the picture.

Gentlemen it is with great sadness that I write this post. Yesterday my father-in-law Pat passed away. He passed peacefully in his sleep after fighting salivary gland cancer for over a year. He was father to five children and grandfather to seven grandchildren. He was a veteran of the US Navy and retired after fourty years of service to the City of Pueblo CO. He has been a part of my life for the past 20 years and was a father figure to me. He gave me his most precious gift, his only daughter. I will miss him greatly.

I know you all would like to send something to my family to express your condolences, but please, your thoughts and prayers are all that I would ask. Thank you.

    Last Shave of 2018

    Razor
    : Merkur 23C
    Blade: Ying Jili
    Preshave:
    Lather
    : Proraso Red Shaving Soap
    Brush: Synbad Synthetic brush
Postshave: Pacific Shaving Company Caffeinated aftershave

    IMG_20181231_133557v1.jpg
Really Good shave! It was my first time using Proraso Red in combination with the Synbad brush. I think I needed more water for the soap perhaps but I was leery as I didn't want the synthetic to hold too much water due to runny lather when there was too much water. It's amazing how much water a synthetic brush can hold if you're not aware of it! I had one bleeder in one area but it close up quickly. Also some slight irritation in some areas but overall I like the soap. I need to use it a few more times to get dialed in as to the amount of water and getting the lather right but it was definitely much more comfortable and moisturizing than the Arko I was using before. Blade it still going quite strong. Still sharp and I can cut myself if I'm not paying attention but it's also starting to smooth out which is great.

I'm glad I found this generous and friendly community this year. It's been a challenging year to say the least but being on this forum and especially being on the 30DC definitely helped to cheer me up during the down times. Definitely one of the things I'm grateful for! Happy New Years to you Gents! Hope you have a wonderful 2019!
