After 9 years of collecting crap, I have way more than I use. The vast majority of it is boxed up, but if I had to guess I have about 25 razors (both DE and SE), 1500 blades, 2 cases of Arko left and 20-30 other soaps and creams, and a handful of brushes. I just boxed up a gift for a friend that will go out tomorrow (a semogue BC Mistura, a Weber Bulldog handle, a puck of Stirling Electric sheep, and a 50 blade sampler). I will be down to a more managable amount in no time. I'm not overly worried about blades as I will eventually get through them.
Sounds like a nice collection, in the year plus I have been at this, I've also collected way to much crap. I will also be parings down, this year. Probably keep a few vintage and few modern razors, I like, and get rid of most the stuff I have stored away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That would be me, too, but there will be some additions to offset the reductions. As I wrote earlier. most of my soaps figure to be around for a long time, but I think I can reduce a few, and replace them with ones I think I'd like better.
still in ,but decembers purchases are now arriving finally..mail strike, holidays etc..and a brush coming from a member pre NB.all is good while stuff is arriving..
I'm still all in and feeling good. Almost finished off a travel stick of soap, so I'm making progress!
I have a jar that I toss my slivers of almost used soaps and small dabs of cream into. I pull it out and use it whenever I feel like I need something different. I had a soap almost finished on Thursday, so I scraped it out of it's container and smooshed it into this jar. I let the jar sit for a couple of days with a little water dribbled in to soften things up. It's always interesting to use this amalgamation of my personal shaving soap history. It just smells like soap now, but man does it lather! I expect I could use this jar for 3-4 months before I got close to using it up. It keeps me from shopping for more soap because I suppose it has at least 15 different soaps or creams in there. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
I’m aiming for a CB ‘19...........Cautious Buying. I know myself too well to think I can pass up a new Stirling offering or a smokin’ deal on a razor or brush. BUT I’m also aware how quickly a lifetime supply of equipment and soap can pile up if I drop my guard and start impulse buying. So I’ll proceed with caution, and with nothing currently on my wish list. Plus there are some expenditures I’d like to make towards other hobbies.
i blew NB-19 already..razors wanted that came up for a great price, and a sought after soap..but the year is still young..
Oh yeah...I have been out for about 2 weeks now. I am trying for a SDNB'19 (SD stands for SLOW DOWN!)
