Ok, fellow shavers and a pleasant Sunday morning to you. As promised, I am reporting my 4th shave this month with my Dovo Shavette, however, I am using the Dovo long blade for the very first time. I have to say this blade was ultra-sharp and I wasn't expecting it to be so. Lol! As a result, I got 2 small weepers on my chin, and only needed 2 passes, WTG and ATG to get a BBS with a 3 day stubble. I am glad that I finally used the long blade to make me realize just how good a Dovo shavette can be. For the rest of the month, I will be using the long half blade. I am so impressed with this blade that I probably will not use the smaller half blades again, unless my black insert breaks. Lol! Again, I am using the VDH luxury soap, with Noxema cleansing cream as a preshave. My brush is the Semogue OC badger and my aftershave is the Pinaud Clubman. Result: 92 Grade A-
I was tougher in my grading because of the 2 weepers. My grade would have been a 97 w/o the weepers.

I did get her a plastic Wilkerson Sword de that I thought would be good for her a while back. She has problems with angle apparently. She also had a bad experience borrowing her grandad's razor when she was a teenager. I think maybe if she will continue with the lathering and nice soaps she may try the de razors again. She does like lavender and I noticed Stirling has a lavender that I may get for her later on if her interest stays with the soaps. Thanks for the concerns about mom.

Great report. Do you have the green insert for "hair shaper" type blades?

No, I don't. When I bought the shavette, it came with the clear and black inserts. I believe the green insert has been discontinued as well as the red ones. However, I did not like the clear insert because it was hard to see the guide tabs to aid inserting the blade. Also, it was hard to see the blade when shaving so I was able to buy the red inserts on ETSY to use the DE half blades more easily.

Mine came with red, black and green insert. I think I bought it used off of Ebay about three years ago. The green inserts are hard to find. I have not shaved with the longer Dovo blades yet. May have to give them a try.

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

I actually just outright adopted it. That was my plan for the raffle, well disguised I think. Everyone assumed I would choose the brush but I was going to leave it for someone else this time around. I had decided on the wooden soap bowl and when the Queen changed up the selection process I did include both bowl and brush, just in case the bowl went first. I ended up getting the bowl as planned and the brush went to a good home as well. The winner selected a different brush, leaving this one still available for adoption, so there you go! It's synthetic horse.

I had the bowl from Jason as my first choice. You beat me to it. Congrats! I'm looking forward to seeing it in your SOTD pics.

I am being very lazy this morning and just barely got the shave in before noon. The little RV Rover is a joy to use face lathering and made short work of whipping up the MdC Fougere into a rich lather. Three passes and touch ups ended in BBS shave. An operator induced weeper prevented an Epic shave. A splash of Balsamica left me smelling good and smooth shaven with a lazy afternoon ahead. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

    RyX DoH!

Sure does! My father was gifted a banana plant that also had a tiny mint stowaway. The banana succumbed to freeze from the not quite tropical weather. Not so the mint. It's escaped the bed, spread out with runners, and smells great when run over with the lawnmower! There's a patch three by six foot where I harvest tiny fresh sprigs that cost much less than the dried herb sold in stores.

No hurry shave today. Major desert rain storm last night and this morning. OneBlade V1 took on a thick, slick layer of MDC laid down by the DK Omega Boar. Le Bol en Bois was worth every Euro. 4+ years of easy lathering, exceptional shaves. Mon dieu! Finishing with a face freezing drench of Stirling MITA Witch Hazel and the no longer available Folsom Shambala. Late addition ADP Ginepro di Sardegna.
An effortless shave! The cobwebs have been blown away, I am smooth, restored, and smell damn good!
    Great shaves today guys!!!

I wanted to try out my recent arrival of GD Citric, but after using an Orange Chill shampoo I got a hankering for some menthol. What to do? M-Bomb it, baby. Still on the injured reserve list due to a chin injury, the Karve still pulled off a nice smooth shave, with an assist from my 30DC LE brush and Stirling grapefruit AS. I want for nothing, gentlemen!
