Paul, someone else sent you the Jeeves Bay Rum. I didn't PIF that to you. I sent you some menthol crystals once.

Very nice, Joseph! I look forward to your journey with straight razors. Lots of knowledge here on this thread to help.

You can get Mitchell's from Connaught's Shaving in the UK for $8.01 USD, not including shipping. I remember even with shipping it was cheaper to buy from them and have sent overseas than buying The Fat domestically.

to be honest most of my soap/croap tubs are 5+ oz of product as i am a little thrifty and don t like to spend $30 + dollars canadian for 4 oz ..unless its a must have..then it becomes a special occasion soap ,some of these i will make last as a new $30.tub used every day is un affordable at present..the 2 tubs of jeeves was a good deal at 7 oz back when i bought them..luckily i have a lot of soap to use up ,hence my NB19..

I'm okay with it. I like variety, so two smaller tubs is better for me.

My understanding from a conversation or two was exactly that. Seven ounces lasts a long time so sales were slow. People order more or more often if it's four ounces. I get the economics of the move and I also understand costs, etc. However, a 43% reduction in volume without some sort of cost reduction definitely creates an issue.

If you mean the Bergamot Lavender, I love that scent. Some others don't care for it as much. There's definitely lavender, but there's also an earthiness to it. I'm not trying to dissuade you from buying it, but just letting you know that as far as the "collective scent enjoyment scale" is concerned - it seems it's about 50/50.

I hope your mom is doing better this evening.

Rick, here's what I do when I use my camera phone. I turn off the flash off to eliminate glare, and I'll rest the camera phone on a fixed object (sink top, roll of TP, gold brick, half gallon of ice cream, box of .357 ammo, container of Beano, bag of pork rinds, whatever I have on hand) to eliminate camera shake.

Once I frame up my SOTD photo, I touch the screen where I want the focus to be sharp. Usually, this is on the razor handle or head where there is some detail or lettering. Sometimes I focus on the tiny hairs in the knot of the brush. I wait for it to auto focus, and then I snap the photo. If I let the camera phone focus on its own, it's a crap shoot. I'll take about six photos, touching different areas of the screen. Depending on the depth of field and where I've chosen to focus, one or two of the photos will look better than the others.

I will email the photos to myself to get them on my laptop. Most of the time, I will use the free photo editor on fotor.com to crop and resize the photo, adjust the color, etc.

That's what I do, and I can get pretty good photos from my el cheapo Samsung phone.

yes sir i agree, they could say the container still costs x amount ,a price drop would be in order..my solution to the bigger tubs back then was buy more flavors..but the market would still get saturated hence less sales..a balancing act ..my soaps will disappear more quickly as i now shave daily instead of twice a week..but like most of us we have a small room filled with soap and such..
