NEW Buy 2019 I am waiting on two items so far. I picked up this blade bank to complete my Gillette Aristocrat 46-47. I got this Henckels. I will be making a box for it to live in. Great little razors. You can also use modern SE blades with them.
My first haul of 2019 is on the way! From South Africa: 1x Wriggly Tin Coffee SS 1x Gilly’s Lush Life SS 1x Gilly’s Unforgettable SS Can’t wait!

Well, it appears that I'm not getting another Aristocrat after all and I am pissed! The seller initially marked the item as shipped but did not happen to post a tracking number. This is somewhat unusual, but not a red flag in itself. This past weekend, I messaged him to see if he had the tracking number. His response was that the tracking # was at work and he'd update it on Monday. Tonight, I got this message: "Hey I'm sorry to inform you of this , but I can't find anything showing where I sent your item off. I must have misplaced it somewhere or it fell out the box I had everything in. I'm sorry once again. I'm trying as we speak to find out how to refund your money." followed by a cancellation of the transaction and a refund from eBay. Now, I understand that things happen but I've been a bit leery about this one ever since I won the auction for less than a rejected offer amount. So, I poked around the sellers completed auctions and found this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/ANTIQUE-RA...7-50-WORKS-PERFECTL-LITTLE-WEAR-/113471545032 which ended the following day for much more money. Looking at the pictures, they are identical to the razor in the auction I won, right down to a distinctive spot on the handle. Moreover, it turns out that this seller has fairly low feedback including a couple of negatives, one for a razor which was never received and for which a refund was requested from eBay. Guess what that razor looks like... yup, spot and all! Right now, I can't decide if I'm dealing with a well-meaning but incompetent seller, or the world's worst crooked one. Sigh.
That's a bummer. Start a case with eBay, maybe his sellers account will get suspended. Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk
Was talking to the person I bought this razor from, it was the persons grandfathers and he carried it with him in WW2 around the Pacific. He must have lost the head and replaced it somewhere along the way. Kinda cool if you ask me.
Very sorry to hear. As stated earlier, I recommend reporting it to eBay. Give them all the documentation, with links, to the sellers other ads, copy the email he sent you, & hope this seller loses his account so he won't continue these deplorable practices.
I'm still weighing my options. I had an email exchange with the seller. According to him, he originally had five Aristocrats and acknowledges that he was lazy and used the same photos for multiple auctions. As for the negative feedback, it apparently dates to right after one of the big hurricanes and he was unable to ship anything and just cancelled all sales. He has also said that if he finds the razor, he will send it to me free of charge. Since I've already received a refund, I'm inclined to go with Hanlon's Razor (Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.) and just move on.
Sometimes malice and stupidity lead to the same outcome. Either way, you'd be doing the next guy a favor. Anyhow, I'd like to think that it would take more than one incident for ebay to take drastic action.
Any deviation from list>bid>win>>pay>ship>receive ought to garner negative reviews. Sure issues happen. Reselling the same item with excuses sounds like fraud.
