Had a very early morning shave but didn't have a chance to post until now. Today's Jeeves products are the Cherry Blossom combo that came from @Screwtape last fall. For whatever reason, I didn't get the usual quality of Jeeves lather this morning as it was quite thin. User error, no question, just not sure why. Oh well, I get to try again tomorrow. The scent is pleasant enough, but not a favourite of mine from this artisan. 7 oz of great soap base though.
The E2 has been fantastic the past few days. I had debated moving it along as I didn't think there was much difference from the E3, but I think I'll keep it for now. I need to change out the blade, and I think I'll try one of the vintage Schicks from the cartridge in the photo.
Have a great afternoon and evening all!

  3. Fantastic photo, Jason! I believe those blades in the cartridge are CS, so don't expect much. Time is not kind to a carbon steel edge.
  4. Very nice picture and setup Jason. Good story also. :)
  5. @mrchick emails these crazy photos to me. He knows I have no self-respect and will post them. :happy097:
  6. Jason, you have a very nice looking cased Schick E2. The Cypress handled brush is a looker as well. For some reason, I crave Jambalaya, Gumbo, a Muffuletta, and chicory coffee every time I see it. :eatdrink020:

I've got a new tub of Jeeves in the pipeline (Blood on Steel). I'm looking forward to it based on all the positive reports I've read.

I hope your day is going well.

  7. Awesome gear, Gary! Love that old AS bottle and soap container.
Yup, you can say you used it, now it's time to get back to something more enjoyable, John!
My first thought is that the pic had to be a doctored, internet special...and then I saw the Russian label...and now I'm not sure.:think002:
Great photo, Jim...I swear a few of my worst cuts have been on my nostrils...:shocked029:
Glad you like it, Perry. I'm curious to try the new base.
Awesome scenery, Clint. What do you think of the Flat Top? Is it the 24mm? I have that one ready to go as well.
Awesome order, Neal! You are only missing a few 'minor' improvements:
    100 Nacets
    100 Polsilvers
    100 PermaSharps
    100 Astra SPs
    :scared003:
    Yup, Hump Day! Awesome.
    :lam:
Great job with the straight, Robert! Is that the Blue balm or the white? I find the Blue quite pleasant.

  8. I was looking at that soap also Charlie. Post a review after you have used it some.
  9. Thanks, Andrew. I 'ejected' one of the blades, and they appear to be Stainless (not 'blued'). They are NOT original to the case, I got them at the Antique/Junk store separately from the cased Injector. I think that is some gunk in the injector that makes it perhaps look like corrosion in the pic.
  10. Will do, Doug. That's the soap we picked up at the meet up last year thanks to @Drygulch working directly with Jeeves. Did you, by chance, get a container?
  11. I don't understand, "did you get a container?"
  12. Thanks Jason!
  13. Actually, the fact is(oh boy, THAT is redundant!), I didn't see the original post about the stinkin sucker, I just decided to be silly.
  14. Thank you, Gentlemen.
Charlie, did you not get a tub of BoS at the meetup?
  15. Thank you, Jason. I nipped myself trying to get up under my nostrils.

  16. Hi everyone! I just completed shavette shave no. 6 for this month. I only had to take off 1 day stubble. Unfortunately, this was not my best shave for this month. I got two nicks, 1 on my neck and one under my chin. So, the mature veteran that I am, lol, I decided to end it with just one WTG pass and some touch-ups on the side of chin, jawline and neck. However, even with this subpar shave by my standards, I still got between a DFS and BBS. I am a hard grader and due to the fact that I only did one pass, this is my grade for today

    Grade 91 = A-

PS The good thing is I will have another day to shave. Make it a great shave and a great day guys!

  18. Thanks, Jason! Nice and warm photo on your post. Really like it. Is the Maximo Gomez sample I have from the previous company? I remember seeing you post about the company being bought out. This version of soap, whoever made it, is top notch in every way.
  19. I like your setup. I like your Ralf Aust Razor. I have two 6/8 Spanish points made by RA.
