    how's your weather, Dom?
it's rainy here, getting very close to freezing, several area schools (including my place of employment) already closing or delaying start til 10 (mine...thus far...), based on the possibility of 1/4-1/2 inch of ice.......gotta love Texas!

    Remember... everyone has their talents.

Always remember that you're special, Jim. Don't let anyone tell you different.

Wow. Enjoy the ice there, Jim.

We've had highs in the mid-20s this week. Tomorrow is supposed to get just above freezing. Seems like we're getting hit with 4-8 inches of snow Wednesday, then freezing rain, then sleet.

We're getting at least one snowstorm each week. Lots of snow this winter.

I think you missed the CST cut-off.

    Shoot for Shep-time.

honestly, it's really not that out of the ordinary...we get the occasional snow flurry and/or ice storm, cold snap, etc. It just doesn't last. It's not unusual to have over a foot of snow one day, then the next everyone's out in shorts and t-shirts while the last piles of snow/ice melt. kinda weird, but it gives credence to the "if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes" joke

and, that doesn't take into account the panhandle which will get more consistent "winters"

Just burning the midnight oil. Not really tired.

Just had a plate of various cheeses and sliced meats. I do love that on occasion. Goat cheese, soft cow milk cheese with herbs, blue Stilton, liver pate, peppered salami, and a pear.

About to start sipping on the glass of port I put in the freezer before I started putting together the plate.

I love nights like this. I think some reading will follow pretty shortly.

Didn't have dinner earlier, so this is dinner now.

Eat anything exciting for dinner, Jim?

ahh, cool...it's good to have a laid back night every once in awhile

supper/dinner wasn't anything too exciting, though I did come up with a pretty good manwich sloppy joe recipe...while browning the ground beef, add a couple dashes of cajun seasoning (not a lot), then add 1 - 1.5 cups of McClard's BBQ sauce with the Manwich sauce - gives it a nice kick

I love McClard's BBQ, I mentioned it across the street, reckon I oughtta ask if anyone here has every tried it?

Hmm. Sounds like that saying works a lot better down in Texas than it does up here. Up here, they also use that saying. Doesn't really work in the dead of winter or during the scorching summers.

    Hello. How goes it?

I haven't had a sloppy joe in a good while. I reckon I'll be making some in the near future.

One thing I miss being up in Boston is food from the lower states. You can't find good sweet tea up here and I have yet to find somewhere that does biscuits with sausage gravy or proper corned beef hash. I'll be fixing myself up some proper corned beef hash in the near future as well.

    Ouch. My brain.

Also - never even heard of McClard's BBQ. Made in Texas?

I tend to use a little bit of scotch bonnet/habanero pepper when I want to give something a nice kick.

    you're making me hungry...

nope, little bitty hole-in-the-wall place in Hot Springs, Arkansas, but man they make some awesome sauce - the ribs are out of this world (and that's not just because they're in Arkansas :D)
