    Good morning gents!

    Parker SRX
    Shark
    Cella
The brush formally known as “Ol’ Shedder”
    Fine Santal Absolut

There seemed to be a small breakthrough in using the Parker today. It just felt less awkward. Take note of the word “less” in the last sentence. I did try something a little different - I attempted to focus more on the feel of the shave rather than trying to watch the angle of the razor. That’s not to say I didn’t watch. That little change alone seemed to be a huge help. It allowed me to make small angle changes as needed, rather than following a rigid measurement of the spine width. In a manner of speaking, I let the razor tell me what to do, instead of me telling the razor what to do.

There were a couple small weepers on the first pass, which appeared when I switched to my off hand. After the first pass they were gone. Two more passes and a little witch hazel touch up left my face nice and smooth. Not “100% DE smooth”, but as smooth of a shave with the Parker as I’ve been able to get. For me, that’s a big win.

Today's Jeeves product was the Key Lime soap, which came generously from Adam at Christmas a year ago. Whipped up a phenomenal, rich lather, enough for 3 passes plus 5 more I washed down the drain. That is where the positives ended, however. Looks like @Linuxguile and @Screwtape were right, these vintage blades are carbon (or the worst non-carbons ever). I thought they were Stainless because they weren't 'blued', but it was brutal. I got through 3 tuggy, rough passes but did end up with a Socially Acceptable Shave. I must be a masochist as I decided to pull out the Alum to see where I was at irritation-wise. Not a peep from the alum...I was shocked, actually.
Splashed on the Florida Water (4 inches of snow yesterday, why not?) and at least walked out of the bathroom smelling summery.
    Have a great day all!

Great shave and photo, Jason! Surprised the alum was so quiet after a terrible blade. That's a testament to your technique!

Excellent! Another wonderful report. Perhaps we should try writing our shave reports in haiku.

Sorry the shave was rough, Jason. But the news is that it didn't tear up you face!

Once you can feel the blade, and make adjustments by that, you can shave successfully with any razor, and even some things that shouldn't be shaved with. Who is ready for Mayhem???

Sounds like a great shave, Perry! I still can't believe we have a quality soap that actually says 30 Day Crew on it...
Interestingly, Jeeves products were available through CanadianBladeCo, which doesn't exist anymore. I got most of my Jeeves stuff there, and paid nothing -or next to it- for shipping. I'm surprised that he doesn't use other vendors south of the border as well.
Sounds like you're well on your way with that Shavette, Jim. I knew it would just be a matter of time.
Wonderful photo, Clint. I always like seeing your beautiful quartersawn White Oak heirloom table!
Interesting, Paul. My Lounge tub was far from 'really light'. The tobacco was very forward in mine, and strong. I found it in the same scent range as Tabac, actually. Minus the certs.
New LC and Nacet? Great combo, Joseph.
You're killing it with the Parker, Bruce! Cool pic as well.

Thank you, Gentlemen. It could be that the blades were simply not sharp enough to irritate my skin. Maybe having hair pulled out -and not cut- isn't an irritant...:sad023:

Oh, yeah...I did shave with the Gillette Tech without a baseplate. It wasn't even May. ;)
