Looks like there are several other clients. The bank holding the notes seems like they are stepping up to help, I have a meeting with them tomorrow. Meanwhile my house got invaded by neighbors with tools today. The house was at about 95% done when it hit the fan, and we knocked out more than half of that today. Have incredible friends and neighbors, about 8 people are volenteering this weeekd to get stuff done so we can hopefully do an appraisal next week.

    January Shave # 3

    Razor
    : Merkur 23C
    Blade: Shark Super Chrome
    Preshave:
    Lather
    : Proraso Red Shaving Soap
    Brush: Synbad Synthetic brush
Postshave: Alum, Pacific Shaving Company Caffeinated aftershave

    IMG_20181231_133557v1.jpg

Whoo boy! Only two bleeders this time around but the sting from the Alum was fierce. Alum as a feedback tool is really teaching me that I'm still using too much pressure apparently. :em3300: I thought I was doing so well with the pressure too...but the Alum doesn't lie. :scared003: The blades still feels really sharp. Shark blades are well named methinks. I'm almost scared of trying a Feather at this point if Shark blades are feeling too sharp for me. Against the grain is when I end up with bleeders...I've donated way too much blood this month...Ahh...well....I need to pay more attention it seems and go even lighter on the pressure. The proraso is more moisturizing for sure than the Arko. I may need to use a pre-shave perhaps to help cushion a bit more. Guess I'm still a :whacky024: in many ways!

Shark blades {and all Lord made blades for that matter} were very rough to me. Just my .02

I guess that would mean Feather and Kai blades are out of the question as well.

Also, you don't need more cushion in your lather you need more slickness, try adding a bit more water and see if that makes any difference.

    Hi everyone.
    The Thursday morning shave.
    20190110_211330.jpg
I'm using one of these razors, a shavette, to keep up with my rule for an open blade focus. The straight I have needs more work IMHO and when a different stone gets here, I'll see what I can do. So using the shavette last night for a one pass to clean up before bed went Ok.
This morning, the shaving gods were pleased, but not satisfied. Shaving the face the fist pass went fine and the second was ok too. Now the third pass there was a small spot on my chin that was irritated but no blood. Durring the right cheek passes, a bad landing caused a small nick. Wait for it, a small seeping of blood appeared. Nothing bad easily stopped, but still this was sufficient to be sacrificial.
I was extra careful, being the first time, so it was close but not super close. I used the shavette for the entire 3 pass shave. This razor is sharper than my straight, so I'll be using this razor until I get the straight fixed.
The head shave was an uneventful 3 pass with my Fatip Retro loaded with a Polsilver blade. Nice and smooth just like I like it. I used this blade for the 2cd time because I only used it once before on the head shave.
    Till morning.
    Enjoy

I've never tried Kia blades. Feathers are a little rough on the first shave for me but smooth out after that. Nothing beats Russian steel for me, though.

That’s great news Adam. It is always nice to have good friends, family, and neighbors to help out. It’s contractors like that who give them all a bad name.

hello fello shavers,my christmas present arrived from my wife today..had to try it,pulled out the best brit tech i own ,the new tech hybrid..loaded the gsb, lathered a doppelganger party and had 3 glorious passes. dfs+ was the reward..love this razor, while not much different than a flat bottom it is smooth and efficient to me with this blade combo..plus the rhodium makes it sparkle..the scent is lovely, may get the sauvage edt down the road..will have to dial it in as always, but easy to use..finished with the splash/cologne..face feel was nice but didn t test any results like some have,a lot of soaps feel good afterwards .will try more later..awesome folks, worth the wait..have a great evening..gary 20190110_185838.jpg
