Thanks for the answers. The only time I have used Williams I did bloom. Next time I will man up and not bloom.

Neal , i love these blade trials . Really gives a good insight into the blade type , manufacturer, history, etc.
I have used the Shaverboy Chinese blades with great results in various razors . I'm not one for Chinese stuff but 100 blades shipped for 7 bucks cdn . I couldn't pass up that deal.

    Razor: IBC/Rex Ambassador (6.5)
Blade: Feather AC Pro (1)/Permasharp (5)
    Brush: PAA Starcraft
    Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated
    Soap: PdP
    PAA Star Jelly unscented
    AS: Stirling Pharaohs Dreamsicle

    Good morning!

Day seven with the IBC. Swapped out the Schick for a Feather AC Pro, no discernable difference. Two passes to a socially acceptable shave. Third pass with the Rex to finish BBS with quite alum.

The PdP is one of the first soaps I purchased, rarely used for no other reason than the fact it's in a small tin. I decided to try something new to me. I used the soap like a shave stick, rubbing it on my wet face then proceeding to face lather. Worked well, producing plenty of lather for my three passes.

    Have a great day!

I think that grating it might be considered OK, especially if you're turning into a shave stick. Blooming or sousing are definitely out. Best to get the answer clarified from the man himself @wchnu

Is @wchnu the great Fuzzy? The one and only protector of the Williams Mug Soap!

As Vice-President of Soap Bloomers of America, let me say that I do feel the need to bloom when the soap is packed tight. Some don't need it(Stoylin, for instance). I have two soaps now with Bentonite Clay, and they don't need it yet, but when I get down closer to the clay, it may be(as the double saying goes)-"a horse of a different kettla fish".

Popped in a vintage PAL blade and all is right again. Whipped up a nice, slick lather and I am completely smooth after 3 passes. Focussing on Jeeves products this month, I’ve realized I enjoy the quality of the splashes every bit as much as the soaps.
    Have a great day all!

I hear you Brian. Once they leave the nest you miss them like crazy. I have 2 out on their own now but luckily still have a 10 yr old to keep me on my toes . Great shave buddy.

That L1 is sweet Perry. Do you find it mild or just smooth? Im so used to reaching for my E2 or E3 that i use my Shick Grip less often although it shaves great.

How many shaves on the Rapira?

    I couldn't agree more .

    Ditto

    Youre welcome Charlie

I wanted to the give the Yaqi/Weber Bulldog handle a go at this morning with some Stirling.
I completed two passes this morning and left at that. It was just a nice comfortable Friday morning shave.
Finished up with some Alum, Nivea and Stirling Noir aftershave.

Y'all take care and have a great weekend!

    Here's to tomorrow then!:eatdrink047:
I use the Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave soap almost every shave. I like the slight cooling effect (though in all honesty once you start dabbling with Glacial's you don't really notice lesser levels of menthol anymore), it does a fantastic job of prepping the beards even without taking a shower before shaving, and it adds a level of slickness to any soap. Seriously this pre-shave soap is so slick that I sometimes have a hard time opening a tub of soap after using it, even after drying my hands.
Beautiful shot Jim! Great choice on the scales!

    Very nice Jim.

At first glance Mark i thought that was a bowl of ice cream.

What a great combination Danny. Enjoy your weekend.
