Amsterdam, 1554. These guys have been in the game for a while. Knowing I was headed to an open blade show I pushed the hydration. Decent lather resulted: glossy, slick, & fair residual to boot. WTG and ATG with the no Pro, followed by ATG and plenty of buffing on the corners. Passable results in the CCS range. I'm still not ready to kick off the Shavette training wheels so the DE continues. Both the soap & AS scent slightly sweet working well together.

Well, the snow arrived earlier today and shut pretty much everything down in the STL area. Yeah, they're wimpy like that at times. We have probably 5 or 6 inches right now where we live and we closed the store at 4 today. I live about 3.5 miles from there and it only took me about an hour to get home. It really wasn't ALL that bad, just a bunch of idiots with rear wheel drives clogging up the inclines and hills out there. I drive a front wheel drive CX-5 with a stick - I can go anywhere. My wife was out earlier in her AWD CX-5 and had fun running around everyone else. So we're safely in watching it snow and seeing what the total is. I'm sure the Canadians will put us to shame with our little 7-11 inches total here.

Second shave on the Super Gillette Blue Blade from China. Same exact setup except the Slim is at "normal" mode on 6 and I switched synthetic Stirling brushes. Three full passes, the baby is in the house, everything was smooth and the alum was 99.9% silent. Just one spot on my neck that twinged a bit. No worries at all. The blade seems to be keeping up nicely with the added gap and the second shave on it. We'll open the Slim up to 9 tomorrow and give it the final run through blade trial protocol. I'm thinking this is a pretty nice blade and if it holds up will match up well with the other Chinese Gillettes out there. As I've noticed with earlier trials, a blade made in China by a Chinese company is something to be feared and loathed. A Gillette or Schick blade made in a plant in China seems to hold the quality we expect.

Stop buying stuff. Master the techniques, then buy razors if you like. If you master the fundamentals of angle and pressure with a single edge blade, all razors become an option for you.

I was the newbie last month and took a lot of ripping. It was all in fun and I enjoyed it and was able to throw a few punches back as well. This is a good group of folks and you will enjoy it here.

 

You just wanted to write Schafmilch cause it looks cool.

A great start is to watch a video on how-to shave with a straight razor. Start stretching your skin like straight users do. This will speed you up greatly.

We still aren't sure if you were a true newbie or a plant from a rival group somewhere. You were just waaaayyyyyy too comfortable. However, since Natalia took a liking to you, no worries. Other than the ones you have about her.

We got 55cm or 22" here between Wednesday and yesterday .Visibility was so poor they took plow trucks off the road . Awesome report btw.

YouTube videos will do that to you. LOL When I started four years ago I had the same issue. I'm glad I found this place where I learned to shave and stopped buying for a bit. Trust me, there's plenty of time to buy all the shaving gear you can ever want once you know what you're doing. This group proves that!
