That's the same logic used by the baseball industry in cutting off live organ music at games and replacing it with recorded rock music. (Course they have live singers do the anthem, no rock music allowed for THAT).

    Me too, Patrick. :)
Like I said to Andrew yesterday, the longer I am wet-shaving, the more intolerant I am with products that are anything less than "great".

I agree. Thats why i like the idea of samples. At least you get a headsup as to if its a good soap or not before you lay down your money on something you will never use or use often. I look forward to every shave now and disappointment sets in if it doesn't come out right. I find i can work with almost any blade but prefer some over others, but the soap makes the experience for me . Have a great day.

I should have probably gone with samples over the years. (I have bought and sold and piffed more soaps than I can recall). Oh well...

i dial in the lesser soaps to enjoy them, but won t replace them..the lesser soaps make the great soaps grand and a treat..eventually i will only have my favorites in the den ,but more will be out by then..;)

Alphabetical journey through soaps and creams
    Letter M

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: vintage Personna Ultra Chrome
    Razor: Schick L5 'Revere' injector
    Straight razor: Solingen 'Handforged' 5/8
    Brush: Surrey badger
    Soap: Mystic Water Irish Traveller
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Sharp Dressed Man aftershave

I was inspired by @Primotenore to try a little straight shaving. This Solingen razor was a better experience than the Boker I tried last time. I shaved my cheeks and a tiny bit of my neck before switching to the Revere. Also used only my right hand. Steve (swarden43 - can't tag him so his account must be deleted?) shaved with straights on the weekend and only used his right hand. I believe someone else does that as well. Anyway, pretty good shave on my cheeks. The only casualty was my earlobe. Nicked it on the right side, but no cuts or blood on the face.

Better experience than last time, but it will take much more time to get the courage and technique to fully shave my neck. Might get there one way but I'm not rushing.

Letter M soap was Mystic Water Irish Traveller. Slick, easy lather. Letter N is next with the Nivea body shaving stick that's available in the drug stores now.

    Have a great weekend!
