Thanks! Ralf Aust razors are very nice, and are hand forged in Solingen. People looking to get into SR with quality affordable steel should look it up.

As far as I know the Rapira has never had a problem tightening up all the way. However, I'll give it a check when I use it next. And, for the record as we have been discussing this, the two razors are not interchangeable. The handle threads are different sizes. The Rapira is a bit bigger than the Gillette. You could probably change base plates around but that's as far as that could go.

I’m fond of the stuff as well. But, I still like the Otter. He’s a cute little fella gracing the labels.

VDH is a great soap, especially for the price. I've gone through several pucks of the Deluxe over the past couple of years, mostly on head shaves. The Scented Luxury is also nice.

Just don't molest the Noble Otter soap, Bruce. It seems to make him unhappy. :scared003:

I use the luxury. I have never tried the deluxe.

Charlie, I believe you could do well as a spokesman for Noble Otter. You "spoke" to me about it once :).

Speaking from the Office of the Czar I can give the following recommendation for whether or not to try that. NO!!! ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!! ONLY A FOOL WOULD TRY!!! Or, let me put it another way. Question. Do you like your anatomy in just the order it's in? Then don't even think of trying that or you will be missing a couple of essential round parts that most of us like having around.

The Deluxe isn't on shelves much anymore. Although neither is the Luxury in most places. But you can still order it online. It has a more mellow scent than the Luxury but lathers just as well if not a little better for me.

    That’s just awesome, Charlie!

FWIW, not only do I not molest soaps, I don’t bloom (souse, whatever) them either. It just seems cruel to drown them.

Interesting about the size difference. Not what I would have expected.
