Thank you, Clint! This is my last day with students this week. Attending the state music conference the next two days. Then we have Monday off for MLK day. Lots of things to wrap up today before leaving.

I hadn’t pulled out this Razorock soap is quite some time. Took it to the bowl and got a really nice lather. Swapped out the blade for an Astra and had 3 pleasant passes which left me quite smooth. Today’s Jeeves product- the BoS splash, seems to go nicely with this soap. Another good shave with the Flare Tip.
    Have a great day all!

Since Rob @Rob206 is new to the community I wanted to break out the Jagger and Stirling. Rob I believe is doing a 30dc with his Jagger and is also trying out some Stirling. Rob you inspired me to dust of the Jagger.

I normally do not shave everyday but I got up this morning and felt like a shave.

I completed two passes and cleaned up a few areas on the neck. The Jagger never fails to do its job. They are just nice solid razors and a joy to drive.

Finished up with some Alum, Nivea and Stirling Noir aftershave.

Y'all take care and have a great day and Grasshopper keep up the good work!

The Regiment Reveille performed well again for me. That is one of two I have with Bentonite Clay. I think the clay is more mixed in with this soap than that which is in Grandpa's Barbershop from Central Texas Soaps. I've had only 4 shaves with GB and the lump of clay can clearly be seen(it's a 5.0 tub), whereas I don't see a lump in the Reveille, after I'd guess about 7 or 8 shaves with that one. Reveille is just 3.5-more like a puck than tub. I have to wonder if the lump in the Reveille is less thick than that in the GP. If you guys think I am fascinated with Bentonite Clay as a shave soap ingredient, well, let me say...........................................................you're right :).

It's interesting to see that the Noir A.S. color is same as that of the Unscented A.S....clear, like water.

I was sent this from a friend which will enlighten you about the director.
    _______________________________
Ironic that this far left ad campaign was directed by Australian director Kim Gehrig, who has been accused of sexuaI abuse by 2 men & 5 women when they were minors. Her victim's videos exposing Ms. Gehrig for being a predator have been on Youtube for a number of years 1 dating back to 2010. Yet this paedophiIe is trying to smear white men as predators & abusers? Did Gilltette, even do a cursory background check on Ms. Gehrig's Some such & Co. firm before hiring her to direct this campaign? They need to Explain why the company's associated with a predator who's actions lead to the suicide of one of her victims in 2016!

Neal....I purchased a razor identical to the one you have without a box a couple of weeks ago. When I get home tonight I'll post a few pictures. Mine is missing the spring tab in the back that puts pressure on the back side of the blade and pushes the blade toward the blade stops. The spring is broken at the retaining rivet. I need to fabricated a spring and I may get you to get me some good pictures of the spring on yours. Your finish on your handle is better than mine but the plating on my head is in great shape. Later on I would like to fabricate a wood handle for mine. Congrats on an awesome looking lather catcher!

Good and less-than-good with this shave.
    Good first.

I am getting nimbler with the right/left hand on the downward pass.
I have yet to cut myself...knock on wood.
I feel pretty good about the stropping stroke.
Today, being Wednesday, I chose my vintage tallow Williams.
Bloomed it whilst showering, sorry @wchnu but that's who I am...:)
The Semogue made quick work of the soap and created a wonderful, creamy and, what proved to be slick lather.
(More on that in a minute)
Left/Right downward passes performed nicely. I am working on finding the most efficient angle, which

doesn't seem to correlate with my DE razors. I hear the "buttering toast" sound, but stubble removal is
VERY minimal, often requiring me to repeat an area 2-3 times, before progress is made.
    (This cannot be normal...)
Very little drag with the WTG pass, as is to be expected.
Now the not so good. (No blood, sorry Dracula) ;)
XTG drag...not awful, but significantly more than the WTG pass.
Got through it. Still nowhere near a BBS.
ATG...fugettaboutit. Was NOT going to happen. Blade stopped. I didn't want to push it for fear
of the blade jumping and cutting. :angry019:
So the best I can do so far is a XTG pass.
Now, vis-à-vis slickness: I know my lather is slick, because I finished the shave with an AGT pass,
using my '56 SS and a fresh Polsilver Blade. Ice skating/buffing. ZERO DRAG.
    Thoughts, anyone?:signs002:
I welcome any and all advice. :signs001:
So now I am BBS smooth, thanks to King Gillette and my '56 SS.
And I am smelling manly, thanks to Ed.Pinaud and his Special Reserve.

Focusing on finishing my MDC Brain Bowl this month, I'm getting near the end of it . It's so amazing that it has lasted more than 4 years. Granted, I have a small warehouse of shaving soap and brushes. :p
I didn't sleep to well as my back is sore and ready for a steroid shot. Two more nights.
Today's shave was calming and relaxed my back a little. MDC 's protective, easy and thick lather is rich and luxurious. Paladin SRT LE Honeycomb has a great face feel with plenty o' backbone. Two passes and some cleanup and I ready for the day. Have a great shave and a wonderful Wednesday guys!

Thanks Charlie. I've been around the shavettes couple times now. Had an Annie - similar to the Magic, couple Wecks, and now the Luxor. Open blade shaving was my intro into The Wet Lifestyle.

After I completed the shave, took my photo, and put my gear away I noticed the nick had left a half inch long dribble of blood run down my chin. I called to the grandkids, "Look what I did!" They were impressed at my self harm episode. No Band-aids were consumed because I told them I'd look silly with a Paw Patrol sticker on my chin.

Thanks Clint! When I started this Focus I knew it would either be quit early or finish strong. Looking like I'll get a decent full shave by the end of the month.

I've seen candy bar makers do a similar marketing plan. They introduce a King sized bar of the same old thing, but at a higher price point. Then the small bar is no longer available and the "king sized" label is just the regular label. Soon the king sized bar is downsized in weight to the old regular bar size, but the price stays the same. Once folks get used to paying that king sized price for the regular bar - a new higher priced king is available and the cycle starts again.
Remember when a four pound bag of sugar weighed five pounds? Consumers have short memories.

I can tell how old my edges (how sharp) by the ATG pass. It sounds like you need to refresh the edge. You should not feel any dragging or catching. Either your is to shallow or the razor is not sharp enough.
