Congrats on the new job, Fuzzy! :eatdrink047: I spent 32 years working a few different jobs in a chemical plant, so I know the drill. With your BBS shaves, you should have no trouble passing the respirator fit test. Be safe. :)

Not sure there is a real advantage. I just am in the habit of taking my triple-milled soaps and, using my kitchen box-grater, grating and pressing. Perhaps it allows some moisture to infiltrate the soap when blooming, although I tend to really pack in it. Also, when the puck doesn't fit in the container, this prevents water from sitting underneath the puck. Maybe a flatter surface will allow your brush to pick up more product. Too bad it's not working for you Randy, I find that I Coloniali creates a magnificent lather. Good luck.

Got it. I Coloniali actually has a weird structure that makes it crumble when pressed and then when compressed further becomes very hard and solid again, so I achieved the same results in a different way. Anyway, I tend to get bored without a new experiment to try, and this is a fun one. I’m in a small minority, but this soap has never held the magic for me that it does for others. Who knows, if it doesn’t work maybe I’ll be able to work out a trade with Mark @Boojum1 to let loose of one of those gorgeous LE synthetic Chubby's. Unlikely, but a boy can dream. Besides, Mark would only have 157 of them at that point, which might be make his collection slightly less impressive. :)

Thanks for the info, Randy. I remember you posting the other day that CL fragrances are an acquired taste, and I have to agree. I only have two (plus some samples) - Unconditional Surrender and *2018* (two large-ish samples from the Maggard's Meet). It took several uses of both to warm up to them, but now I love them. He knows what he's doing. And, he throws some good skincare stuff in there as well. I'm intrigued by the YRP now...
    Thanks again!

    Lather: Palmolive Classic Shave Stick
    Aftershave: Fine Platinum

A nice shave this morning to help wake up. I am dragging a bit this morning, so a little cleanup definitely helps some. The day should be quiet heading into the weekend. I hope everyone has a great day!

I tried the Osage rub last night for the first time. I'm not sure but I think there's menthol in it. Holy crap.

    Letter R Fat Friday detour

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: GEM PTFE
    Razor: GEM Featherweight
    Brush: Omega 10049 boar
    Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post: Witch hazel, Fine American Blend aftershave

Excellent shave this morning. The guys on S.E.R.F. (Single Edge Razor Fans) on Facebook were having a Featherweight Friday, so I joined in. Used this razor earlier this week, too. Nice, smooth shave with wonderful lather and a quality finish from the Fine American Blend.

Another day of conferencing. Enjoy your day!
