Good memory, Jason. It is indeed a real Rubberset and no, I never was able to "re-emulsify" the Alt Innsbruck. It has baffled me why it separated...temperature, perhaps? I might chuck it and buy a new bottle.

Early morning shave with afternoon post. Another near perfect three pass shave. The hardware and software worked very well together. I hope everyone has a great Friday.

Yes, it is a start, but the 90° bend on the original is a little tighter than you have there. I would also make the pivot leg a little longer to account for the 180° bendon at the pivot end, the trim it as necessary. If you need, I can approximate the measurements of the legs.

    Good eye.

Croap is easier in a vessel. I spoon out like a green pea sized amount, and lather with a damp brush. I vastly prefer face lathering, as I don't share my brushes with anyone. Face lathering leaves more residual slickness, and is the better method for open blade shaving.

Ahh. The shave lather bowl. The most incorrectly used item out there...

Barbers built lather in a bowl and applied it to the face by hand. They still do actually, as I witnessed in London barbershops. Originally, for hygienic reasons, the brush was a shop tool that was never used directly on the skin of clients. Building lather in a bowl and then brushing it on the face defeats the intended purpose of a bowl.

Thanks....after I go back and look at the pictures I do see that the bend in tighter. I was using a hole in the shim for the start of the bend but the radius is too large. I will back up and punt again. Measurements would be nice. Thanks.

I'm a face latherer also. I load brush then build lather on my face.

We live in a different world than when shave bowls were first utilized. Back then all shaves were SR. Prior to sulfa drug antibiotics (WW2 era), a staph or strep infection in a shaving nick or cut could potentially be fatal.

I think I could go with only shave sticks if I had to. Take up less space and seem to later really well. My brother inherited my grandfather's SR but it looks totally unusable. If that thing could talk.

Does anyone use bloom water for a pre shave? I saw it on YouTube and tried it last shave. I don't have enough wet shaves under my belt to know if it really made a difference.
