Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick G4
    Brush: Surrey badger
    Soap: Reef Point Classic Barbershop
Post: Witch hazel, Reef Point Classic Barbershop aftershave

One pass shave earlier today before we went out to lunch and ran a few errands. Starting to rain with gusty winds and we came home only to the nagging roof leak acting up. Roofing company has our repair on their docket and is supposed to call me Monday to set it up. I had to crawl up into the attic and put a couple of buckets to catch drips. Annoying, but it'll be fixed soon enough.

The shave was fine. One pass and done. Reef Point is good software. It's unobtainium now since they closed, but it works quite well.

    Have a great day!

Beautiful, mossy photo, Clint. Goes well with the excellent MW soap. (One of Michelle's best, IMO.)

Haven't given up on my Shavette Focus, but when a nifty new item shows up days early... Worked a swap; DE for a DE. I'm a fan of OC so going Double Open Comb kicks it up a notch! Started with a particularly warm scuttle and great lather from the WTP soap. Using Jason's @jtspartan brush fitted with a synthetic knot always provides great service. After a perfunctory clean up, I dropped in a fresh blade, fitted handle to top end, and goggled at the amount of blade exposure. Starting my WTG pass being extra careful I soon realized that despite how far the edge is exposed, this cap and base isn't super aggressive. Plenty of blade feel, never have nicked my skin with the ends of a DE blade hanging out, just riding the cap. Second (ATG) & third (XTG) passes proceeded with no errors. I temped the shave gods by the regular clean up fiddling on my lower neck, edge of jaw line, around my chin. Very clean & no nicks anywhere! It'll take a couple more uses to fine tune but I'm impressed. After not doing DE clean ups on shavette reductions this feels very good. Finished with a splash of Pinaud. Next up - baking oatmeal & dried cherry cookies with the grandkids.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

Premium results on drug store gear. Two passes per usual and all is smooth. Day two on this blade.

Busy day running errands and some house hold electrical work completed, time for a calm evening. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.

    :)

Congrats, Charlie. I’m not entirely sure what a doodad is but I’m happy you have a spot for them nonetheless.

I am assuming it is a Gillette Fatboy. I like the Lilac Vegetalis. Barbasol not so much. Vintage Gillette razors are the best!

I’m in Orlando for a conference that starts tomorrow night. Long story short, I have a convention room rate at Ritz Carlton of $139, so obviously I brought the girls along for the weekend so that we could live like rock stars for a couple days. We just are going to make sure not to touch anything, and not order any more milkshakes. This bad boy was $16. Probably worth it as a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but we gotta find a McDonalds close by soon

Thank you. It's the only vintage DE I kept. The Veg is also one of my favorite things.
