The Chief from the original run of brushes with the Sabini knot is outstanding. The large and plush face feel belies it's compact appearance. Second use of the Sheraton this year provided a terrific BBS 2.5 pass shave. "They don't make 'em like this anymore". I'm definitely going to have it replated in luxurious 24k. Excellent shave with a newly honed R. Herder straight this morning. It has a beautiful edge and 2 passes left me bbs everywhere apart from one side jaw line, where I missed a tiny bit of stubble. Very happy with it.

 

Definitely get that re-plated in 24k. It will look fantastic.

Needless to say, I`m trying anything that will accommodate these crazy tremors. In the back of my (so called) mind I have several more"tricks" up my sleeve, before I need to go strictly to an electric.......oh! today`s shave: Not bad (or good). Smooth and clean but too complicated. I can always go to the twin injector. Just found some on ebay. Kinda fun experimenting.God Bless to one and all, Bill.

I'm craving a Bois du Portugal scent today, so I'm taking an unusual break from my Old Spice Sunday scent. Old Spice gets more play than any of my other scents, so it's not like it will ever not get the most use. But today, my nose just wants that classic, silver-screen-era dirty lavender fougere/barbershop scent. If you have never worn Bois du Portugal, you owe it to yourself to eventually spray 1 pump (it potent, so only 1 spray) of this on your skin and wait a few hours for the dry down. The opening is a bit of a dirty, almost piercing fougere that, at first, doesn't seem world-class, but if you wait for the scent to dry down you get rewarded with what is, in my opinion, one of the greatest scents in all of perfumery.

I use the lavender bath products to spruce up that piercing lavender opening and make it more smooth. WSP's Barbershop soap has notes that are fairly similar to a few of the main notes in the best part of Bois du Portugal, so WSP's Barbershop doesn't introduce anything that isn't already in the main fragrance, so it works as a body soap that won't disturb or clash with the scent of this fragrance. All of my bath and shaving products were selected to work with this main scent. Kevin of Country Club for Men somehow managed to make a fitting dupe the Bois du Portugal scent well enough for the shave soap, splash and deodorant.
