Congrats on finishing the soap Mark. You need to keep the bowl as a trophy.

To bloom or not to bloom?
    That is the question...

I have always bloomed my soap thinking it was just the thing to do, makes sence, right??
But there is this post that keeps wondering around that pops up...
"You don't need to bloom any soap!"
Well, using the same soap most of the time here, I stopped the bloom cycle.
I am a face or skin lather guy, Just like it thst way.
For about a week I haven't bloomed my soap now, here is what I have decided.
It's not needed on Stirling soap, matter of fact, it makes the soap hard to handle and control.
When I bloomed it the lather would make in the soap container, not on my skin where I wanted it. I also had to deal with slippery soap container with lather and suds.
I soak the brush for a few minutes, shake it well and load the brush to skin lather. Dip the brush in water till I get the lather I want on the skin, shave.
No more sloppy suds in my soap container.
Now I have the soap where it belongs, on my skin, and I am able to control the consistency better this way.
So at least with Stirling, I will not bloom the soap anymore.
    YMMV

Just admit it...............you are scared of Fuzzy!:signs136: I don't bloom my Striling either. I just pick a little up with the damp bristles and lather it up in the salsa bowl.

    Shave #4.
I'm a happy human today gentlemen.
Such a great shave this morning. I'm amazed, zero neck irritation, no oozing or bleeding, and minimal sting from the alum. Probably my closest shave to date. The shave cream was decent. I think I prefer soap over cream. Stirling is still #1. The almond scent is nice, reminds me of the Italian cookies we make at Christmas. The burn from the aftershave was surprising. Why in the world men ever moved away from wet shaving is beyond me. Its a sin.
    Be well fellas [IMG]

Alphabetical journey through soaps and creams
    Letter R concluded

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Kai Captain Mild
    Razor: RazoRock Black Hawk
    Brush: Ever Ready 100T badger
    Soap: Route 66 Cavendish
Post: Witch hazel, Jeeves of Hudson Street Tobacco Bay Leaf aftershave

Easy one pass shave with the Black Hawk. Two days of growth mowed down. I'll shave early tomorrow morning so I didn't go for multiple passes today. The Route 66 soap was terrific. Slick, easy lather. Great post shave feel. The Jeeves tobacco splash is always a hit. Such incredible quality.

Letter S begins tomorrow with Soap Commander Courage.

    Have a great day!
