Moving a little slow this morning since I am still sore from yesterday's torture, aka Physical Therapy. The Oleo Shiloh smells absolutely fantastic and is very slick. Three passes and touch ups ended in a perfect BBS shave. The shave was clearly the best of the week. A splash of Fine Italian Citrus and I am off to fight Atlanta traffic. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

Thank you, Clint and Jim! We went to Disney the year before Wilson was born and had a blast. Then he went last year as a 3-year old but we were tied to the band's itinerary and couldn't do much independently. This year will be different!

RazoRock 400 Noir Plissoft Synthetic Shaving Brush
Salsa Bowl / Timeless bowl scuttle
    Murphy & McNeil - Triskele
Rockwell Razor – Plate 5 on a Weber Classic Handle
    Nivea Post Balm
    Pinuad Clubman Classic

Great shave this morning with no weepers or nicks. Just a nice comfortable shave with three passes.

First time trying the Murphy & McNeil Triskele sample. It is their take on the barbershop scent. The only comparison I have is to RazoRock What the Puck Blue Barbershop. The scents are totally different to me and the Blue Barbershop has more of a soapy scent to it. The Murphy & McNeil has a real nice fresh scent to it and seems to pair up with the Clubman Classic nice.

I took just a small amount (and I do mean small amount) of the soap with my finger and smeared it in the bottom of the salsa bowl. It did not take long to whipped up some nice lather. The Murphy & McNeil soap performs great.

I almost forgot. I have been using lighter razors for the past couple of weeks and broke out the Rockwell on the Weber classic handle. This is one heavy set up but a great shave combo. If I need a tack hammer I have one in the den.

Y'all take care and have a great hump day!

I had a great shave today with the Original Blackbird. The Druida Robo 1 made quick work of the MDC, three full passes with little to clean up. Close, comfortable and efficient the BB is up to the job. The Stirling Witch Hazels are ice cold, real face freezers, but I love 'em. Chilled down some more with a spritz of Orange Chill and finished it today with Terre D' Hermes. Aces everyone!

Terry...I have a can or two of Barbasol but have not used it. I just like my other soaps and do not want to try anything else right now.

Congrats on a great shave! Most DE blades can easily handle 3 shaves unless you've inadvertently does something to dull the edge. I and a few others here believe that you can get more shaves from a DE blade once your technique is solid. I typically toss my blades after three shaves, even though they are still performing well. They're cheap, and I don't want to compensate for a dying blade edge.

I have used the Clinique scruffing lotion. If I'm not mistaken, it is for exfoliation and removing any excess facial oils. I wouldn't recommend using it after a shave as you've already exfoliated and removed any oils. It could possibly add to the potential for irritation. If it were me, I'd only use this product sparingly and a few hours before I planned to shave. I only use mine now on my forehead and the top of my nose...places that aren't shaven...because I am seeking the clear skinned, full Hollywood look. :)

Excellent face prep, building and applying a good lather, use of no pressure on the blade, riding the cap and watching the blade angle (you should ideally feel no pulling) are key basics to remember. Don't worry about chasing the baby or taking too many passes right now. The baby will soon find you. :)

I also recommend a soothing after shave balm. For me, it is typically unrefined shea butter.

Bottom line, you have a nice set up and you're making great progress. Shave on!

An above post reminded me we're approaching the final week of Jeeves January. I expect to get in another round with the Bay Rum before we get into Feb. Two sets in the month-well, it should have been more, I suppose, but I'll still have a good amount by next Jeeves January. I'll try for 3 or 4(sets, that is 3 straight days with it).

I've given thought to a three soap rotation as well, though my three would be Stirling, The Fat, and Tabac.

A quick shave this morning with a post-War Tech and 7 o'Clock Indian green. The result was a great shave with no issues. It does look like I may finally be coming to the end of the Stirling Sheep sample, however. I'll probably go with the Stirling "Naked And Smooth" sample for a while but will likely order a full Sheep tub down the road.

As you may recall "Naked And Smooth" was one of the soap nominees at last year's Stoylin Tony Awards.

You mention the barbershop scent...I was surprised to read that a reviewer of Stoylin Barbershop soap said it brought him back to the days when he would go to his grandfather's barbershop in Texas. He might as well have been talkinabout my recently purchased Grandpa's Barbershop(Central Texas Soaps). I've been using Clubman Original A.S. with my Stoylin soap.

My hotel shaves this week have been outstanding. The Slim on 9 played no small part in this, as did the fancy pants soap dish provided by my fancy pants hotel. I forgot a bowl to whip up lather from small samples, and used this surprisingly effective tool...
