Tracy. I think I'm going to try that slant out tonight. You use Feathers in it, right?

Can't decide between the Tabula Rasa and the Connaught.

Suggestions, anyone?

 

Have you tried either? I have not. But I'm going to suggest the Connaught based on Tracy's raves about it.

How are you doing Dom? Got my first straight razor today. It's not shave ready, so I'm going to send it out to Lynn Abrams...

Feathers are the only way to go in the slant.

I suggest the Connaught cream.

 

I didn't like Feathers in the slant. I do not think I like Feathers. I may try them in something else, but I think the 7 O'Clock blacks are just as sharp and much much smoother...

And to answer you from earlier today Tracy, no I have never shaved with a straight.

 

I have thought about a straight but I don't think I have the patience to strop and hone them.

I didn't like feathers when I first started. Tried them in all of the vintage gillettes and they tore the crap out of me. For some strange reason I loaded one in my slant about the 4th time I used it and it was awesome. At the time I hadn't found the "right" blade for me yet. I don't know what made me think to try them in the slant. After a month or two I tried a feather, again, in my gillette and I still don't like them in my gillette.

 

I'm borrowing a vintage slant from Bong, and I've got a Feather in it right now. Two shaves with that thing and both were not good. I've got so many razors and blades I want to try right now, but I just don't grow hair fast enough.

I think if I cut down to two passes, I can probably shave twice a day. But I don't know if I really want to do that....as much as I like shaving.

 

I liked feathers in a slant, but I love it with a yellow 7 o'clock
