Damaging your razor is disappointing...but you'd didn't get hurt, you had a back up razor, and you got a nice shave. I'm sure the blade edge can be fully restored. Stuff happens. No worries!

Another one of those days- early morning shave, late afternoon post. Gave myself a break from the MMOC today, for no other reason than I felt like it, I guess. Went with the E3, which definitely falls under the 'oft-neglected/not used enough' category. Very pleasant 3 pass shave- nice lather and smooth results.
Made a new brush handle on the weekend to house this flat top I've had for a few months. The wood is Sapele and is often referred to as 'African Mahogany'. I find true Mahogany a little deeper looking grain, but this is a nice looking wood as well and is very easy to work with. The wood looks different depending on how the light hits it. Tried to make the flare at the bottom match the flare of the knot somewhat. A little metallic paint and Bobs your uncle. Here is a better pic:

I've read up, tried with the less than adequate set of rocks here, but haven't successfully set a bevel on a SR. I like your idea of a Regression instead of a Progression through the hone grades. If a light touch will restore the edge you don't have to start from the beginning.

I have an Uncle Bob, but he's a retired petroleum worker. Don't think he's ever produced anything that functional & handsome! Nice piece Jason. I know it's fresh off the machines and the paint's hardly dry but it looks like it could be a well cared for 100 year old heirloom.

I'll echo Clint @clint64 - how's the action on the Flat Top knot? Badger or synth?

SOTD 01232019.gif Great lather from the Jeeves. Just enough "other than Bay Rum" scent for me to enjoy & it goes well with the vintage Old Spice finish. Three passes on two days growth netted a CCS. One small nick in my chin reminding me I'm getting better but haven't achieved competency. The month's not over and I'm feeling more comfortable in my grips though some areas just defy my efforts. This isn't a Luxor Pro model I'm wielding. It's the Careful It Bites predecessor.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

Thanks Chris. I thought it would be too radical a move to start with the 1k stone, however, I am willing to go there if the need arises.

Sorry for the Shavette Fu length train- late to the party today.
The Fat, SC and Stirling? Yup, not a bad start.
Have fun getting Spring Break planned, Perry! We had a hoot at Disneyland a couple years ago.
Awesome pic, Jim, and a very satisfying sounding shave.
Ok, now you're just playing with me with another CH2 pic, Clint! Awesome greenery as well.
Top Of the Chain in Canada now stocks Martin De Candre, fwiw. $89 CDN a jar (about $65 USD). Not sure how this price compared to bringing it in from France.
I could see how the ribs in the dish would be a good agitator. You're definitely not keeping the pinky on the mug with that one though...
    Fantastic looking brush, Doug!
Great travel SOTD, Brian. Hopefully you're not away from home too long this time.
Awesome Hump Day shot, Andrew! He's grown so much.
Well, at least you didn't get hurt, only the razor. I probably would've sliced a toe (or much worse) off.
What an artistic shot, Charlie! Have fun with your friend tonight.
World of Whiskey? Sign me up.
Cool soap score, Gary. What is 'dp' brand?
Awesome 'Rick Pic'. Those Leather bottles fit right in.

Thank you. After one use, it does feel differently than a SynBad. Not a face full of pillow like the big SynBad. More backbone, but not as much as a tuxedo. Super soft still, but not as easy to splay as a SynBad. I'll use it a few more days coming up to give a better opinion.
