No Problem Rolls, seems like these blades are very BurnWoody,
seems folks who like the Astra superiors will like the black box 7 oclocks

Cat is trying to knock me out of the bed, kept waking me up :(

I gotta box up some stuff to send off. I actually sold some stuff yesterday that wasn't getting used.

I'd like to, but probably not. We've got to run my oldest daughter down to a friend's house in Reisterstown for a sleepover (don't get too excited rolls, they're only 11). And we have my youngest daughter's friend over until 11 this morning....

Other than that, nothing's really on the books.

    Morning all.

Rolls you will be in my prayers.

Any of you guys use a boar brush? Paul at Connaught has some and I think I am going to try one. I really would like a less expensive brush to travel with and with face lathering I think these will work great.

Good morning everyone! Rolls, I'll be thinking about you, keep us updated.

Having a hard time deciding on the SoTD this morning, I have more time than usual, so I want to pick something nice/fun

    Morning Rodd and Jim.

Rodd I am going on a hunt to find a vintage brush at the antique store. I really want one so I can send it to you to re-knot it. I don't know anything about vintage brushes, any ideas of what I should be looking for?

    a vintage brush :D

I'd say, based on the two I've done, a handle you like, in good condition, no cracks, superficial scratches can be taken care of, but deep gouges are a different beast

What type of material should I get or stay away from Jim.

    Happy Saturday,
    Jim, Dom, Rodd, and Tracy.

Tracy, take your camera along when you go shopping in case you spot any goodies.

Rodd, I'm in the same boat, can't pick what to use today.

Tracy, did you send Dom a 37C?

Dom, how was the shave with the slant?

Jim, that smiley must be added.

Tracy, for a vintage brush I would just look for something that you like the looks of. Make sure it is not flaking apart, or have glue on the handle, very bad signs. The knot won't matter at all, because it is being replaced. :) if it is a clear handle, make sure it has black, or some color where the knot is set. otherwise you will see more of the knot than you want to. Other than that, buy what you like the looks and feel of. Good luck!

I've only done plastic Ever Ready's so far, but I would venture that any material is restorable...may need to wait for Rodd's more expert opinion on that one
