Thanks guys. Not much news to report on the Parker focus. The shaves are going well, and boos boos have become infrequent. It almost feels as routine as using a DE; however, I approach every shave with great respect for the razor. I know I'm only one swipe away from having the worst shave ever. The extra focus of using a shavette is quite enjoyable. It bumps up the quality of the me time a couple of notches over using a DE. I plan to stick with the Parker for awhile. At some point, I'll switch over the Feather AC SS. I'm not sure when yet. I've got an overnight trip coming up soon where I'll shave with my trusty...wait for it...Trac II. Then back to shavettes. Truthfully, I haven't found anything better than a Trac II and Neutrogena Sensitive Skin (brushless) shave cream when I need a good hotel shave in a hurry. It's cold today, but the sun is shining. That makes all the difference to me on a winter day. It was a good day to get out and get some things done. The trim carpenters are working in our house. I'll post a couple of photos later. I hope you all are doing well. Time to catch up on today's posts.
January 25 SOTD: Razor: Gillette '41 Ranger Tech Blade: Polsilver Brush: Ever-Ready 150 Lather: Stirling Glastonbury Aftershave: Stirling Glastonbury It was an early shave, as I left early to head to @wchnu's neck of the woods to visit. A motor shop. Nice and easy, but I am ready for the weekend. I hope everyone has had a great day!
I had planned on using them all but I didnt even think about those double headed ones, LOL. Heres to MAYhem!
Y You must admit they are great brushes. Both Clint and Mark are connoisseurs of shave brush technology and there proper use. IMHO.
Hey Paul - whenever a discussion about scent happens, my go to source for info is www.basenotes.net. Someone asked a similar question and the following conversation ensued.
Interesting read...I'll give these hand/bath soaps the time they deserve and see how I feel. Might call them as well with concerns. But keep sending your thoughts, fellas. . I really want to like this History 101....manliness all over the map.
January SR Focus Eufros Tobacco~~Morris & Forndran Polo 2~~Wade & Butcher 5/8 Today was the best SR shave to date. I have taken some astute advice and am eschewing the ATG pass. Focussing on the WTG and some XTG, at the goatee edge. There's still some room for improvement with regard to the edge. I received my quarry of specialty stones and when I have some quiet time, I am going to take this W&B for a ride. The Eufros is fantastic, although SWMBO is not a fan... She doesn't care for sweet anything on my face, and that mostly includes all of my tobacco scents. She is even on the fence with Old Spice. Floïd blue always gets a I am liking this SR thing so much, I am pondering selling off some of my DE's to finance this thing.
