Cow good. Buffalo better. I'll probably wind up using it. It was more of an impulse buy. When I was at the antique store yesterday waiting on the girl with keys to open the case for the straights I wanted to buy, I came across the brush hidden back in a pile of stuff that I had looked at twice previously. Once the day before, and once the week before. I was so shocked that I had missed it, I grabbed it without giving it any thought. Normally I'd come back here to get opinions and prices.
Finally landed a 1960 fatboy! $38 plus $3.20 shipping. The other one the guy had was a '58 that went for $36. Both with cases.
Nice going, know yo will enjoy that one. I had sold mine soon after I got it or you could have had it cheap. Fuzzy
ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150323480600 Went ahead and ordered the $16 badger brush from Virtual Village while was there after seeing how much Amazon wanted just to ship the Tweezerman... nearly doubled the price.
Evening Dark, Fuzzy, Rodd and Matt. Had a friend take me to the local Moose lodge today. Decided to join. Not too much going on here. Ray I will donate to the cause. Gotta wait until Monday, left the CC at work.
Dark, have you looked at your local antique stores, etc. My first antique buy was a fatboy. You would laugh at the price I paid ($3.50). It was the only good deal I ever got on a vintage gillette.
Nothing at my locals last time out, or even up in the Canonsburg, Castle Shannon area. A few Techs, but even there, not many. The one place that had more than just a couple was a second-hand shop less than a mile from my house. He's got a handful of techs and gems. That's where I found the '50 SS I'm using now. Paid $15 for it with case and a pack of '56 Blue blades.
Hey Tracy. Is it something you have to get voted in on? Good luck. Do you get a cool hat, like the Flintstone's Water Buffalo hat? Now that's a nice find!
Dark, I should add that I have never seen a fatboy at an antique store since. I found the one I bought the very first store I went to. Matt, don't have the hat yet. I decided to join because it is the only place/bar I can go to and talk to friends without yelling over the jukebox or a band. I don't get to go out too often (4 year old) but when I do I like to have a few drinks and catch up on things. Ribs were from a local place that has great food. The wife did a carryout run.
I hear ya there. That's why I'm home drinking beer perusing TSD, while my wife's next to me drinking Rum & Cokes perusing Facebook....We sure do know how to tear it up!!! :happy102 Well, carry out ribs aren't as good as fresh off the smoker, but they're still ribs. And that's better than what I had for dinner...
