Nice setup for today's shave, Clint. I'm following your evaluation of the Duke 3 with interest. I considered a Duke 3 for awhile before picking up the Chubby 2. I hope you and Swati had a nice visit with Mom today.

Shaved this morning but just getting around to posting now. Sad to say the Rapira has been tossed . 9 wonderful shaves but 10 would be chancy. Now onto the other 1/2 blade for hopefully many more . That's stretching your dollar.
Gave the TOBS Eton College the call( she loves the smell of this soap btw) and the JR 241 aka gunslinger with synth knot. 2 passes and a bit o WH touch up and a dab of Nivea balm.

Barbasol applied over wet skin shaves as well as anything out there. People unfairly judge it as inferior, and associate it with carts. It's way better than my newbie brush lather turned out, to be sure. It's why I now recommend it for new converts learning to use DE safety razors. I use it with shavettes also, and have no issues.

As you know, I am a teacher and neatness counts with me. Funny, I am great with test tubes and chemicals and the rest.

It's too bad we weren't classmates because I would have helped you with all the subjects. In return, you would have introduced me as your good friend to your many eligible lady friends. Lol! I like the barter system.

I never was a great typist as you can see from my previous post, hence your spelling reference.

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

I'm going to take it back to Lynn. I have no knowledge of honing at all and am not quite ready to start down that road again. The traditional way to shave with one (Japanese tradition) is to use the same side of the blade on both sides of your face. The sides are the "Ura" and "Omote". The Ura is the side that is stamped with the maker's name and is hollowed more. The Omote is held against the face to shave, meaning you cross your hand over and reverse the grip to keep the Omote against the face. It's a bit of a trick. When I started with pain sticks I used that style of grip to learn it but I haven't used only one hand for quite some time, choosing to use both hands on the pain sticks as the blade grind is irrelevant. It is possible to use the kamisori with either side against the face and even to switch hands and simply adjust angle. I'm trying to learn the "traditional" way, though. Oh, you can use either hand as long as you keep the Omote to the face.
