Today was reserved for the 60 Fatboy which I haven’t reached for in awhile. Loaded up a no name brand blade that was purchased in Portugal while the family was on vacation. While not the sharpest of blades they were smooth. 3 passes and a DFS/BBS finish. Now I could have done another buffing pass but I was happy with the result. Happy Monday!

I have been told this is a rocket, I have not figured out for sure if it is or not. No date code either. So, y'all tell me. IMG_20190128_094448_643.jpg

I think "we all" might have a better idea of it if you tell us what's stamped on it. Or give us better photos. :)

To answer my own question since I should have read the original post closer. It is a 48 - 50 depending if it says pat nos on package 1948 - 1950 or pat nos on pkg 1950. Can't say if it is earlier or not unless it has a center bar without notches. If it has those notches then 48 and up if not then 47 or 48.

The crimp in the handle above the tto knob makes it a Super Speed. On rocket the tto knob moves up and down as you twist it and when closed there is a gap between the two knob and the bottom of the handle.

Starting today is a 3 day mild to wild British shavefest SS style.

On the mild side is the British Blue Tip SS

Somewhere between the standard British SS

And hey babe take a walk on the wild side British Red Tip SS

As far as the blue tip goes there isn't much to say about it. You get a bloodless, banal, drama free type of a shave. Better or worse than a Blue Tip Rocket or American Blue Tip SS I wouldn't know all I know is that of all the vintage Gillettes it is one of the hardest to find any for sale.
