Nice shave this morning. No irritation or redness. However, neck shaving is not good for OCD. I keep feeling roughness and want to keep going over it until I get it all. It's a fine line between a nice close shave and a bloody mess. Staying in all day due to the temps, so I went with a non oily hair tonic because I'm not worried about hold today. I usually put this one on at night when I'm done showering and heading to bed. It is however my favorite scent of the tonics I have. I plan to sit on my butt and read the rest of the day. Stay warm![IMG][IMG]

I can relate to the neck being hard to shave. My lower right neck has proven to be my nemesis.

    What did I learn today?

First, that I can get really great, albeit not quite BBS shaves from a SR.
Second, that the edge I put on my Wade & Butcher is far better than I thought.
This was the maiden voyage of my Dovo 91 and I got a great shave. The razor is easy to wield,
very nice edge and pretty darn nice to look at.
Andrew called it a Pimp Stick. Not quite sure I agree with that, but it leans in that direction.
Catie's Bubbles/Italian Barber Tonsorial Parlour is a full-blown Lemon Verbena soap.
The Coconut Oil does dry a bit and the slickness doesn't compete with some other soaps in my den,
but it's a serviceable product. I am finished with Catie's Bubbles and when this is used up...:happy097:
this product will never be seen again in Primo's den.
The Semoque is a great brush to use. The handle is terrific and the Badger/Boar mix combines the
best of both worlds: softness and scrub. This one's a keeper.
Finished with an ersatz Veg: Barbers Choice Lilac.
    Nice juice, not too over-powering.

Nice shave Rob! I do one pass WTG on my neck otherwise I get ingrown hairs up the wazoo. Its all about learning what works best for you.
Awesome photo, beautiful new razor (pimp stick)! Glad you got a great SR shave Joseph!

Thanks Clint! With the ability to use any razor in my arsenal, it will be more fun and interesting because there will be a few firsts for me that will help me give a more colorful shave commentary.

Sorry about the vintage blades, Andrew. I'd either toss 'em or keep 'em for use as a vintage shaving prop. Wednesday is now official with Delcan's appearance!

IMG_1687.jpg Another good shave with the Tech. Looks like my worry about these blades was 'much ado about nothing'. Some of you probably remember my rant from a few days ago about my PermaSharp Super order that wasn't as advertised. Whether or not these blades are truly PermaSharp Supers or not, they work just fine and are performers in line with other Stainless Gillette St Petes products. 4 smooth days, and I'll go one more with them, just for Science.
After a full month of Jeeves products, I'd say the Cherry Blossom is my least favourite scent out of all those I have in either soap, splash or both. This combo came in one of trades/pifs back and forth with John @Screwtape and I. The usual Jeeves quality of lather with a scent that I just don't gravitate to, especially in comparison to the other Jeeves scents I have.
On another note, I spent a few hours on my lathe this past weekend and made a few more brushes. Made a few Beehives for the first time, in two slightly different shapes and styles. Put a big Omega in one of them and will use it tomorrow:

Razor: Karve with a “D” plate
    Blade: Gillette Silve Blue
    Brush: WDC-8 w/ MS 2 Band 100% Finest 24/63
Soap: TSD Blood & Steel LE
    A/S: Old Spice Lime
    Bowl: Suribachi

I managed to do a rule this month without starting off with a plan. I got a Karve “D” plate on 31 December and used it for the whole month. I started with Route 66 soap Ghost Town for 2 shaves. Then I went to Jeeves of Hudson Street Turkish Bath for 3 shaves, followed by Private Study for 1 shave. I then received TSD 30DC LE Blood & Steel soap by Jeeves of Hudson Street from Charlie. I really like this soap.

The Karve razor worked very well and I had to get some information from Christopher Bradley who responded very quickly with solid information.

I also received a new brush from Wild West Brush Works. I put in a Silvertip which worked well. I also used Old Spice Lime for the full 30DC rule.

Congrats on a great shave with your PermaFake Supers, Jason! :D Your new Beehive brush handle pairs very well with the Omega boar! Just beautiful, and I bet it will be a pleasure to PIF...er...uh...use. :)
