That one worked for me as well years ago. I stopped wearing cologne shortly after I got married, which was nineteen years ago in a couple of weeks. Hanging out here has me trying a few out again, though.

Great progress, you are still just beginning the bbs shaves will come. Strops get nicks, it is just a sign that they are in regular use, consider them 'patina'.

    A double dose of TGIF!

The real deal from an Arizona Native, great explanation.

I also am not a fan of butterscotch handles but this is one of my prized brushes. I bought it new several years ago.

So almost a month now, how much have the shaves improved?

Like many I also struggled with my neck, ATG for me from my ear to Adams apple. Here is how I do it:

Use your right hand to shave the right side. Use an inverted grip (upside down), you then use reach your left hand over the top of your head and reach down to almost your jaw line, tilt your head and then pull the skin tight with your left hand. Viola, now you have made a flat plane with neck and should have the proper angle with the inverted grip. Just change hands for the left side.

Hi all, 259 post 1st day! I'm not going to get thru them tonight. WoW.

First shave in Febuary, new razors in the @Terry den.

    20190201_183119.jpg

The mail man delivered an interesting tool today. The Phoenix Starling V2 Single Edge Safety Razor using a Gem Style blade. Ths V2 is made of a 7075 Aluminum making it lighter than most razors. The razor has 2 base plates, 1 top cap and a handle. The green plate is the open comb, the violet plate is the safety bar. I used the open comb (oc) and a new blade. The first pass was gental, mild, easy. From the very first stroke, I could tell that this razor was not what I am looking for. So the first pass was super mild, no way was I able to get the closeness I desire. Had to go for a second pass, I have the mindset that no matter the razor, you can get a great shave. The second pass was easy, light, and not close. Maybe a change of mind. This razor has one thing going for it, I'm not sure you could nick yourself, even if you tried.
The head shave was less than expected. While shaving the face, I noticed the razor head would drag if I lay the head flat against the skin. This was even more pronounced when I swiped it around the gord. Changing the lather did not help, thicker or thinner, no help. After about half way through, I stopped and got another razor. Just to much drag to keep the blade in proper alignment for shaving.
Lucky for me the mail man delivered another razor, a Gem G bar. So taking the blade out of the V2 installing it into the G bar and contiued the job.
The G bar was also mild but would slide around the skin like a razor should. Finishing the work, 2 passes on the head, nice but not close as normal on a 2 pass shave.
    Disappointed, yea who wouldn't be?
I'll try out the G bar in the morning and try out the V2 another day when I have time to play.
All other things as they should be.

    Have a nice evening.
    Enjoy

Saturday Shave: Today is the first day of a 5 day holiday. Mon-Wed is a public holiday for Lunar New Year!!! Yeah!

For the five day holiday my razor theme is smiling razors. To kick things of is this 6/8 half hollow made by Edward Brice, this baby has some bling. Since it is the weekend I give myself a free pass on the software, today's choice is AoS cream. AoS get's beaten up a lot for their pricing but I find their creams excellent in quality and given how little is needed I don't find them over priced.

Everything clicked and I am off to a great start for the long holiday.

    Irritation A+ Closeness A+ Smoothness A+ Sharpness A+

Razor: Edward Brice 6/8 half hollow
    Strop: Mastro Livi
Brush: B400 handle by Tom, TGN silver tip
    Pre: Proraso
    Soap: AoS cream
    AS: Clubman AS, Speick ASB
    Scent: Clubman

Nice looking razor Joseph. I have a strop that looks like it should have brought a gun to the knife fight, because it apparently has no clue how to knife fight. we recommend inexpensive but quality strops like an Illinois, because it happens to all of us at first.

    @Terry
What blade are you using? carbon or stainless?
Also, try this. Start somewhere you can go across the grain first. On my pushbutton that's what I have to do.
If you still get the same results, then I would email Douglas Smythe and let him know. May be a defective head, at least in the more agressive .

Alright, Robert. Google was no help. What are the blades marked "SOTRACO"? They must be good.

Daughter took the kids for a ride to the park. Rather that planning supper, she indicated they would hit a drive up or through and bring supper home. I was expecting pizza since the age of voters in her van is approximately 13.
    They surprised me.

Used to be crawfish were caught in the wild, but inventive farmers figured out how to use flooded rice fields to cultivate and increase the harvest. It's real early in the season but with that Big Game coming up they've started hauling em in.

Having shaved with both unless the adjustment was off on one of the razors that Executive should be little less aggressive and smoother on the equivalent setting as a Fat Boy. When I shaved both on 9 I could whip that Executive around the face no problem while the Fat Boy I had to be bit more careful so as to not get bitten by it.
