You don't really have to, but she doesn't know that.

How does one work on acquiring the skills of an open blade shave with a naked woman running around the bathroom anyhow?

i am also invoking the "new purchase rule" if something new comes in during the month it is ok to use it/ experiment... but get back the 30 day focus (trying not to buy anything) (working a a few straights, gems inbound, gem razors inbound, the veg inbound)

Thanks Charlie! I never thought that I would be a straight razor shaver. I always thought that a barber should use them because they can be quite dangerous. It has been just over three months since I started using a straight razor and I am completely enjoying it. It truly has been a pleasant surprise for me. I have told my friends that I just started straight shaving and the response is quite varied to say the least. I feel sorry for any man who pays exorbitant prices for cartridge razors.

 

If your courageous, then use the Braille method. Lol!

 

I do not recommend shaving before an audience, especially an audience given to frequent comments. I dealt with by letting my woman watch me shave one time, she did not make it through the first pass, 'too scary to watch' she said. I told her when I am shaving do not barge in, do not call me unless you want to sew up a cut on my face. It has worked pretty good so far.

Doug, I always enjoy your pictures, especially the winter wonderland photos. Those Personna blades are my favorites.

Two passes to bliss! If you're a new convert coming from cart world, look into Proraso AS. It's a eucalyptus scent, and is a good value. It has great skin feel and a touch of menthol, making it a perfect choice for both newbies and those guys in nice suits hanging out in butcher shops, but, I digress. Twenty-six more days of Fatboy and it's gonna be great! Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.
