    Good morning everyone!
Just finished my shave. I brought out my '68 Gillette slim adjustable and used a Rockwell blade. Used my pro 89 and VDH soap. I got a nice BBS shave with three passes on a 1 and a half day stubble. No nicks, weepers, cuts and irritation were involved. Finished with my Pinaud Clubman AS. Have a great day gentlemen! 20190203_200650-2-1-1-1-1.jpg

Great photo and shave Perry. I had the same thoughts with the soap vs the cream. Again my impressions were after only 1 use.

Weekends are just too short but at least I was able to start the work week with a good shave. Everything worked well together with three passes and touch ups ending just short of a BBS. A splash of Fine Santal Absolut and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Monday.

So, the focus on the straight continues with the goal being improved whisker reduction on my neck. I finally broke down and used the alum on my fingers to skin stretch. I know, I know, rookie move not doing this before. I just don't like having to use a "crutch" with the alum, but I will admit that it made skin stretching much more effective. I was also concerned that it'd foul up the glide on the shave in subsequent passes, so I used it only on the last pass. It does, however, appear that it shouldn't be a game changer in terms of affecting the results on additional passes. More experimentation is required.

As for other shave related info, out of sheer convenience I've been using the same brush the last several days in order to try and kill my sample puck of GD Ambrosia. It's an everready handle restored with a Maggard (Yaqui) two band badger. It doesn't have the pedigree of other brushes in my den, and had seen very minimal use until lately, but after 5 or 6 lathers on the drydock the bristles have softened up quite a bit. You'd be hard pressed to get a better value in a two band brush than this one. I own many brushes with many knot types, but I've found the two band to be my sweet spot: soft, scrubby, and plenty of backbone. If you are looking to experience one without breaking the bank, the Stirling and Maggard knots (supposedly both Yaqui knots) really perform well. I don't think you'll find a better "bang for your buck" anywhere.

Great shave Perry, here's to tomorrow!

Very nice Joe, I used the 5 pack of Rockwell blades that came with mine but the other hundred sit unopened.

And they will just keep getting better too. Doing great!

Looks good Clint, have a great day!

Now that's a good setup Jim . Love Arko. Enjoy your day!
