  12. February 5, 2019

    Razor: '48-'49 Milord
    Blade: German Wilkie (2)
    Brush: Semogue 620
    Soap: Stirling Naked And Smooth
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

The knot has been reglued on the VdH boar but needs a few more hours to set, so today I used one of my other Boar brushes, the Semogue 620. Other than that, it was the same great result as yesterday with no noise from the Alum.

Also, as they brought me no joy, I have sent all but one of my Gem razors on to another member who will better appreciate them.

    February 5 SOTD:

    Razor: Gillette Fatboy
    Blade: Rapira Swedish Super Steel
    Brush: PAA Atomic Rocket
    Lather: Stirling Rose
    Aftershave: Stirling Rose
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Unscented PSB

After this morning's shave, I have decided I am going to get rid of the Stirling Rose soap. I really like the scent, and the performance is as good as any Stirling, but I definitely get a reaction to it. It causes a burning that just isn't pleasant. It isn't real bad, but I don't see any reason to keep struggling with it. I used my MWF ceramic dosh for the soap, and since Andrew helped me get a refill puck, it helps to free the container up. It is too bad as, I do enjoy the scent. The shave itself was a 2 pass DFS. I hope everyone is having a great day!

  17. Thanks man. Actually, I think it was your post initially that put it on my radar. My local big box stores don't have it, but TJ Maxx came through for me.
  18. Thanks Clint.
  19. Excellent picture, Jim! Too bad about the soap.
