    Tuesday’s Shave.
Sticking with the single edge razor focus and taking my time during the shaves to listen to the wonderful audio feedback. The MMOC easily mowed down my two days of beard growth!

    Razor: GEM MMOC
    Blade: GEM Stainless Steel
    Brush: Lowborn Supply

Great shave Jim. I get a burning sensation from some rose soaps as well.

SOTD 02052019.gif I really wanted to shave yesterday. Just didn't plan my time right. Visited with my parents to get a look at their new (used) car - a 2004 Chevy Cavalier. It was sluggish starting so I checked the battery. Side post connections were slightly corroded & the date said 4-1/4 years old. Quick ride to Advance Auto confirmed no cold cranking amps. The guy behind the counter quoted a price. I pulled out my phone to see what WalMart wanted for the very same battery. When I told him I was going to save a few bucks for a 1/4 mile ride his price dropped. We did the deal. The little 4 cylinder spins right up now. Got me back in town in time to gather up the twins, then start supper. Had a turkey carcass in the freezer that wanted to become gumbo. After eating all the easy meat, I freeze the bones, skin, jibbles, and juice. That got stock potted for long enough to break up and get sorted out. Meat & juice in the pot, gristle to the dog. Added chicken breast meat, leg & thigh quarters, smoked sausage, and one note veggie - couple large onions chopped and reduced in a black iron skillet. Spices and home made roux, a pot of rice, my kitchen was a mess, and I just didn't have the energy to shave. So today's roster was catching up with the kitchen (done!) and enjoy a shave. Lather was a little thick on first pass, but fine for the next 2-1/2. The Permasharp blades that John @John Ruschmeyer sent my way feel great in the Fat Boy. I'm impressed with the IBSS to NBBS results. Applied Florida Water and right away knew something was missing - it now needs The Rub to make it right. When I get refills on them I'm going to decant a half & half mix.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

So this is the first razor that I have used that carries an edge which I created. Sort of.
I guess you could call this a refreshing.

Without setting a bevel, I did some laps on my Norton 8K and Naniwa 12K and the razor passed the thumbnail test.

Wet thumbnail, razor bites and doesn't want to let go. Something that my Dovo 91 has not done since receiving it.
    :signs002:
    I would have expected different.
Mike's Bay Rum was a bit watery for my liking. I have been experimenting moving away from,
what Fuzzy @wchnu likes to call: buttercream.
Today I overdid the water. Nonetheless, there was enough slickness to make this a worthy shave.
This razor has some blemishes, but the scales are perfect and the pins are tight. I like it.
DFS and not regretting a bit. No blood, no irritation.
Finished a great shave with a great post-shave product:
Small Batch Shave Tonic Winter Reserve. Yummy. :eatdrink020:
