We have this bag from eBags. We also have their packing cubes. They make great gear at a reasonable price. I thought about the backpack (which has more capacity) vs. wheeled carry-on luggage. I really liked the backpack, but I'm glad we decided to get the wheeled pieces for our long trips.

As long as your money holds out and you don't get arrested, you can travel indefinitely with two pairs of these quick-drying chinos and a few lightweight shirts and sets of underwear if you're willing to wash out items at night in your hotel room.

I kept my two large pairs of travel chinos...the only two big pairs of pants I kept...going to see if I can get them altered.

Very nice bags. I already have decent wheeled carry on but wanted to try the back pack option. I have some packing cubes I have used for years on the motorcycle but picked up some e bag cubes as well. I can pack light as long as I am not required to have a coat and tie.

That sounds great, Clint. I think you'll like the backpack. If you plan things right, a coat and tie is never required. ;)

I hope you have a wonderful trip to see Asha, and I hope your elbow is starting to feel better. With the last few weeks, I am really glad you're getting a break from work, client-developed spreadsheets, Atlanta traffic, and winter weather. Travel safely and have fun.

Since you're traveling carry-on (I assume), what is going into your shaving kit?

    Day 34.

Posting kinda late today. I was busy much of the day, and lazy the rest. Sorry.

Pre de Provence no 63 is another soap that I've loved for a long time, but wasn't sure if that would change with a straight. I'm happy to say that it did not. Still awesome. I'll keep buying it as long as they keep making it.

The brush is an AP Shave Co faux horsehair, in a no-name handle that set me back $5.49 shipped from China. It's been a fantastic brush for me. I really, really like that faux horsehair knot.

Did my usual three with the straight, and the single ring again to finish. One small nicklet under the nose, barely bled. Otherwise a first-rate shave.

I have used either end of the razor to get a close shave under the nose area and going ATG on the jawline near my ear. It depends on my mood. However, I usually go on the toe end.

    Gillette 7 O'clock Green Permasharp
Proraso Sandalwood & Shea Butter AS
SOTD 02072019.gif Try as I might I couldn't get this cream to "lather" in the bowl. It wasn't for lack of product so I'm guessing the brush knot was holding & hoarding. I ought to schedule a boar or synth shave to check that option. Once applied to my beard it gave every impression of a lather and with a little more water fluffed up a bit. Not at all like a Soap but Cremo products don't otherwise claim to be lathering. Slick? Yes. Great residual. Scent is very close to the straight up sandalwood of the Proraso Red AS. Good feels from the Mellon head and I don't think I need to go handle shopping. The Gillette Bar handle John @John Ruschmeyer sent fits the threads and I like the balance and knurling. It's even got most of the nickle plating which is more than my other Bar handle on the NEW LC can claim. The blade exposure looks scary as the cap doesn't cover the edges but I've made my peace with aggressive DE's. Ride the cap, light pressure, make shaving faces = TTT. Nice no error reduction with no detectable remaining stubble. DFS+ / IBSS / NBBS ... happy with my results. Post shave hydration felt decent and a splash of Red kept the woodiness going.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

    February 7

    Razor - 1946-'47 Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Stirling Black Ice
    Brush - The Canuck
    Post - Nivea Original Balm

Second night with the detente setup. My neck has recovered nicely from the butchering it took two nights ago. Much smoother and comfortable. With the Stirling Black Ice I had a craving to buy some licorice. The Canuck is such an awesome brush to use even though I'm still not totally used to the fan knot. That SynBad knot is awesome for loading and lathering, even as I'm still perfecting it.

Three full passes tonight and another finish with the Nivea. I'll do one more shave with this setup then move on to another favorite that isn't quite so easy and automatic. Not complaining about easy and automatic, I just like a challenge. Have a fantastic Friday!

Skin was getting dry again. Thats why i keep my head shaved . Tried a trim at first then said heck with it .

I was always clean shaven when i was in the UA due to having to wear a respirator in the refinery or other chemical plants . The old chin is white but the mustache kept its color . I'll go clean for awhile and see if i can stand it .
