Much better shave today, smooth and easy. But I think this blade is done. Anyway, all the parts worked well together and my face is happy. Now go enjoy your day folks.

    RazoRock Syn. 24mm
    Arko Soap
    Ever Ready 1912- Bathroom Set
    Gem S/S [ 1 ]
    Pitralon Original A/S Lotion

This latter version of the ER 1912 is not as noisy as the earlier ones, I think the head has been designed to make the modern blade more stable. Though in theory I am not keen on shorter handles, I find that the one on the Bathroom Set is a delight to use, it is longer/fatter than the older versions.. The Shave was very smooth but the Razor is very efficient in a non threatening way, and I had no problems getting a Shave with a first class finish. This version of the 1912 would be the perfect Razor for any newcomer who wishes to try out GEM /SE Shaving.

Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap
    Jayaruh #326
    Micromatic Open Comb
    Gem Blue Star CS SE
    CWR
    Barbasol Brisk AS

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #326 synthetic horse brush. I did two passes with the Micromatic Open Comb razor with a Gem Blue Star CS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Barbasol Brisk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Alphabetical journey through soaps and creams
    Fat Friday detour

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick
    Razor: PAL Adjustable
    Brush: Omega 10049 boar
    Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post: Witch hazel, Fine American Blend aftershave

Fine shave with the PAL Adjustable. @Linuxguile graciously let me try this razor again after selling one I had about two years ago. I couldn't get good shaves with it but today was different. Smooth and comfortable all around. Have a great day!

RazoRock 400 Noir Plissoft Synthetic Shaving Brush
Salsa Bowl / Timeless bowl scuttle
Murphy & McNeil – Trinity, sample
CVS SE blade – 4th shave
    Gem Feather Weight
    Nivea Aftershave balm
    Pinuad Clubman Classic

Forth SE shave for this month and the first with the Feather Weight. Totally different experience with the FW vs the Shovelhead. The FW seems to be a little smoother and not as aggressive. It gave a nice shave with just a slight touch of alum burn. I would not even call it a burn but more of a warm sensation. The FW is definitely a light razor compared to the Shovelhead on the Weber bulldog handle. I was careful to not apply any pressure to the FW because of its weight.

The Murphy & McNeil soap performed great and gave a nice slick cushion for the Feather Weight. Great scent as well.

Finished up with some Nivea and Clubman classic.

Overall it was a great Friday morning shave and I will give the Feather Weight some more attention in the future. They are great razors!

Y'all take care and have a great Friday!

It's Shave Cream Week day 5

    Schick G4 razor
    Personna 74 blade
    WD Silver Tip brush
    Barbon SC
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe
    Barbon A/S

Love the Personna 74 blades! So smooth and effective, to bad they are so hard to find and expensive. Nice thing is that I'll get 20-22 shaves out of this one blade. The rest of the stuff worked well together and a fine fine shave was had. My face is very happy. Now go enjoy your day folks

Just purchased the Razorock BlackHawk V2.......any experience with this razor among the group?

the blade I ordered was there on the site which is the Captain Titan Mild, again what are the thoughts of the group on that blade? I suppose since I already ordered I'm stuck with it but thought I'd see how the forum felt about the choices.

Never used a single edge razor, have always used my Merkur double edge safety razor so this will be a new experience. Hopefully a good one.
