It's Shave Cream Week day 5

    Schick G4 razor
    Personna 74 blade
    WD Silver Tip brush
    Barbon SC
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe
    Barbon A/S

Love the Personna 74 blades! So smooth and effective, to bad they are so hard to find and expensive. Nice thing is that I'll get 20-22 shaves out of this one blade. The rest of the stuff worked well together and a fine fine shave was had. My face is very happy. Now go enjoy your day folks.

Thanks I have several dopps but l keep them stocked for going through TSA, i.e. no blades, and a disposable cartridge job, if I want to take a safety razor and buy blades at destination I throw a safety in. This roll style dopp supplements greatly in just adding on the good shave stuff to an existing kit in another bag.

Noted...I will get some, I think the feather hi steel ones are too sharp for me..so im doing the 30 day thing and I am getting better results every time I shave so far...using SE blafes I got in a 50 pack....now the bad news, I am in hospital with a chest infection, this happens a lot, I am generally in every three months for IV's coz orals dont work for me now..?anyhoo...went into my shaving kit bagvto get my shave together and felt a very sharp slice...blood was really on a huge constant drip and in a few seconds it was running...all over my we trolley tabpe..floor etc..the sinkbisv2 steps away so was washing it then holding a gandful of paper towels against it and it was still flowing...a nurse came in (drat) and seen it and helped clean up the mess...but obviously vit stopped after a while...I got a plaster and a wee cover thing....but my main concern is how it happened..right from the off I thought Iwas being super safe and could not thing how this came about...I only use the single blades once so generally dispose after shaving, I think I must have left this one on the razor and it has worked it's way free...it is a Parker srx and I thought it should yave held...I will look into it later...gave up my shave last night coz of that but had a good one this morn...no cuts or nicks or scrapes...the info I yave got on here is proving invaluable....wnd as for my cut...well you cant cure stupudity...a lesson learnt.

    Robert.

Robert, all the hype around blade sampler packs is just bull feathers.
Do the 30 day crew and at the end you will see it as well.
Just like in sports, work on the basics and get the basics right and before long you will have muscle memory down.

If you are wanting to work on technique, use an SE, much easier to find the right angle, it is almost built into the head.
I recommend that to everyone that is starting out. It's hard to mess up the angle in the SE, sometimes on DE, you can get it a bit off, either too steep or too sharp, but SE is just riding the cap.

I hope you heal up quickly.

Also, in relation to shave soaps,
I'm a shave stick fanatic, so I prefer Arko, Derby, palm olive and Boots brands. All.can be found on amazon.
If I could only use shave sticks for the rest of my life, I would still get great shaves.

As I am a newbie coming back kinda thing I always used a stick because that's what my father used...never had any problems and my de shaving seems very good as I think even tho it has been a long time since I had used de I just fell into it again no bother...not what I expected...I DO like the Proraso tub, it is so easy to just bloom it and work a good lather, There is no doubt I will give a stick a wee go again, palmolive and boots still stock them and they are ultra cheap...I just cant think I would get as good a lather unless I used a bowl...which i'm not fussed for.

    Bowls are for soup.
But on a serious note, I don't bowl lather just because it's one more thing i end up having to clean. I just face lather, and rub the shave stick straight on the face, as I do with most other hard soaps.
