Had a travel shave today. Brought a GEM Featherweight and Arko. Found some GEM style blades at Piggly Wiggly and gave them a go. Blades are not so great so won’t be using them again in the near future.

    February Favorites!!

    February 8

    Razor - 1946-'47 Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade - [IMG] (3)
Soap - Stirling 2018 Fair Debonaire - St. Louis (Haverford)
Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip
    Post - Alum

Third shave with the Aristocrat and Voskhod. I chose the Stirling LE soap from St. Louis this past summer, now available as Haverford. I actually already bought a tub of Haverford for when the LE runs out. Gave my Wolf Whiskers some love. It doesn't get out often enough. Looked lonely among those synthetics so I gave it a good soaking and let it enjoy the soap. Great lather and three full passes of relaxed goodness. Finished BBS and went for the Alum to see how my face has recovered from its scalping. No burn, no noticeable irritation. I'm ready to go! I've enjoyed this setup as it involves a full compliment of favorites. Good times. It's nearly Saturday so here's to a great weekend for those who have one! Mine is two more days way. I'll get there.

I shaved this morning and caught up on paperwork and then took the afternoon off because my daughter flew in for the weekend. We have had a wonderful afternoon and evening. I just now had time to check in before hanging it up for the day.

Same thing for me. I just broke into my sample puck recently, and yep...all I can smell is orange. It's a very nice orange scent, though.

    Well good morning everyone!
Yesterdays shave with my MMOC was almost perfect, as expected.
Now for the real focus of my month.
The PAA Sarling V2, not one that worked for my face and not at all for thr head shave.
Thats all different now, since I "changed" some things.
Trying to eliminate the vacume or surface tension, what I call sticktion.
Now it is a razor that I will use for a few days to learn its "personality" for lack of a better word.
It was a hard pulling easy going razor, no more. Seems the ability to smoothly glide over my skin and maybe the slight change of blade angle make this razor cut close and clean as any razor I have.
    20190209_080843.jpg
I know it looks sloppy, but not having any persision tools, its the best I can do. I tried many things to make is slide smoothly. But in the end raising the flat part of the head to make it a bump instead of a divot did the trick.
Some epoxy and a small key file is all it took.
Thinking the razor was mild, was a big mistake, a weeper on the jaw, chin and on the top of the head provrd otherwise.
Will clean up the head and take out the imprefections later.
For now, I think I'll focus on my new razor.
    Edit.....
I noticed it's hard to tell, but I only rasied the face about 1/32 of an inch.
    Enjoy

    Great Pual

I have had a mustache for ove 20 years now.
When I met my wife she said I wonder what you would look like with a mustache? We dated every friday night.
So for a week I let it grow, showed up the next friday night. She was surprised and reached over the the table, me thinking she was going to touch it. She grabbed it and pulled it, hard. No one grows one that fast, that's real! She said. I do, I said, she later found out I shave at least once a day, every day and why.
It's mostly grey now, but still growing strong.

You would have your Friday dates, then shave when you got home, let it grow until the next Friday?
