I am and probably should be committed...

 

I understand how you feel about maintaining a straight razor edge. I have not done any serious honing except refreshing razors with a barber's hone. I figured that I can always have my razors professionally honed or learn to do it myself. My motto is let everyone go their own way because they will get to where they are destined to be. Charlie, I never in my wildest dreams would ever think that I would be straight shaving. At 63, I started this journey just under 4 months ago and never regretted my decision. One day, you may find yourself where I am right now. If not, that's ok because you control your steps on your shave journey.

Thanks Clint! Like I mentioned earlier, I will eventually have to hone it this year, but to get a decent shave from it as of now is definitely a reason for me to be happy.

 

That's a great perspective, Joe. My want to's could certainly change in the next few years. I owned a PRC straight razor and a couple of strops for awhile, and now these items have found favor in the dens of @Jayaruh and @Linuxguile.

Thanks, Joseph. That's helpful. There's a certain amount of freedom in coming out of the closet (or refrigerator) with your shaving goodies. One thing I know for sure...them English soap makers ain't got nuthin' on Kraft when it comes to French Onion dip.
I'll grab a bag of chips and be right over...

Next up for Logan is cleaning the bathroom and kitchen...he'll be shoveling snow next winter. By that time, Declan should be walking with the aid of a vacuum cleaner. Parenting at its finest.

It's simple, really.

In - Out + Generation = Accumulation

Assume In represents the soaps you purchase and Out represents the soaps you use

When you purchase and use soap at the same rate, we call this a steady state condition and therefore, Accumulation = 0

Unless you make your own soap, Generation = 0. However, if you are PIFing soap, Generation could even be a negative number.

Therefore, if you are simply maintaining your inventory of soaps and creams...

In = Out
