Paul, my Bride is going to Physical Therapy for her back. Last week, a lady there had brought in her therapy dog. It was a beautiful and very gentle Golden Lab. I'm not a dog lover, but this one stole my heart. There's something special about these therapy dogs.

First, I'm sorry to hear about your Bride's back situation. That has to be tough to deal with. I wish her well. Was the dog's owner a volunteer with a pet therapy program? I donate to Pet Partners(Bellevue, WA)-an organization that sets up national and local programs for training pets to be there for patients like your bride. Well, you two experience that anyway, with your hospital visits, right?

Thanks for that hint Keith! Joseph & I PMed about the vintage product I thought I'd found. I wasn't shopping for myself being more of a vintage Avon or Shulton kind of guy. I don't even remember owning aftershaves when I cart shaved.

Charlie, see above. There's only one old Avon scent that's known to be iffy. When I remember the name I'll tell. Of those I do enjoy I have several decanters of Avon Wild Country, one Leather, and a couple others. Shulton Old Spice has never disappointed so I kept looking and buying until I collected up 4 or 6 bottles, and the Shulton Leather is great. These are all alcohol based splashes. Not so sure about milky balms as I prefer the juice.
The only shave related product I keep refrigerated is a dwindling supply of experimental SC produced by Chris @americanshamrock. I don't know if he used any preservatives which is a common ingredient in soaps containing moisture. This was a prototype / test run I participated in so it wasn't "ready for distribution".
Don't guess it hurts. Give em a shake and shave on!

Thank you Terry! I have many GEM style blades, including the GEM PTFE blades. I just happened to find these blades at a Piggly Wiggly and decided to give then a try.. I will try most anything once... My current favorite is the PAL Blue Carbon Steel. They are sharp and smooth. The PTFE blades give a rough first shave but the PAL blades give a great shave from the start. YMMV...

I also just won an ebay listing for some NOS GEM/Star Duridium blades. 120 blades total in 10 pack dispenser packs for $19.99 and free shipping. I look forward to trying them out!

Thanks Paul. My Bride's back (sciatica) is improving. She has a great physical therapist, and we have asked him for a recommendation on a personal trainer. (We both want to be in a proactive, rather than a reactive, mode when it comes to our mobility and joint health.) When my Bride goes back to see him next week, I will ask about the sponsorship of the therapy dog and let you know. It is wonderful that you support such a worthy cause. This means so much to both kids and adults experiencing health issues.

Correction to my earlier post: the therapy dog at my Bride's PT was a Golden Retriever, not a Golden Lab...such a beautiful and gentle companion.

CVS SE Blade - 5th shave
    Gem Bullet Tip

I got my 5th SE shave in for February this morning. I decided to try the plastic tip Bullet out this morning. The shave is comparable the Feather Weight. Overall it was a nice comfortable shave. The Feather Weight is great but I seem to prefer the weight of the Bullet. Two passes and finished up a few areas on the neck.

I like these SE shaves. I just wish I would have tried the SEs out earlier.

I finished up with some alum which had very little burn. Finished up with some Nivea post balm and Stirling Noir aftershave.

Y'all take care and have a weekend!
