    SUNDAY'S SHAVE

Bath Soap - Pre de Provence Sandalwood (quad-milled)
Razor - Antique Gillette ABC "Empire" Razor circa 1908-1912 (fully restored/re-plated in rhodium by Razor Emporium)
    Blade - Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless *3rd Shave
Shave Brush - Ralph Lauren Safari Collection fitted with Synthetic Knot manufactured by Frank Shaving (replaced by jimjo1031)
    Pre-shave Oil - Lather & Wood "unscented"
Shave Soap - Geo F. Trumper Sandalwood Cream (Dried for months into a hard soap.)
Post Shave Balm - Geo F. Trumper Sandalwood Skin Food
Deodorant - Geo F. Trumper Sandalwood
Fragrance - Ralph Lauren Safari EDT

***EDIT - The shave was good. BBS, but just a little too much on the neck around the Adam's Apple. That is the most difficult spot for me to shave, but a well-developed razor can spare me irritation by preventing me from screwing up (got some redness). As I've said previously, this razor is the most aggressive I own. It sends more blades to the bank faster than any razor, sans the OneBlade. I have to remember that for every 3-4 strokes I would normally do with an Edwin Jagger or Gillette Superspeed, I can only do 1 stroke on this razor. Until I get my mind set with this razor's tendencies, I have to use my off-hand to 'feel' the results of each stroke across the skin before applying another cutting stroke in order to get my mind to understand just how efficient this razor is. I got far less irritation using my off-hand to feel the results of each stroke and smooth more lather over the area for another stroke to ensure protection. Doing it this way has resulted in a MUCH better shave than using the same methods as my other razors. Also, the Gillette 7-O'Clock Super Stainless is working very well with this razor on the 3rd shave. It's the best overall shave I've had with this razor. Next shave will be with a brand new BiC Chrome-Platinum to revisit it for a test using my new understanding of the aggression this razor has. Perhaps I can get a better result with a slightly less sharp blade now that I know more about this ancient DE.
