    I'm here. Just caught up.

    :D

I'm a happy man, Fuzzy. You've just created another SE lover.

JEN IS ALIVE! HOORAY! Are you still there?

    Nope. I use AIM.

I love the Atari 2600. Don't have one, but I do have a working NES.

    Timing indeed.

I LOVE Laserdisc. The technology was way ahead of its time.

I also LOVE rotary phones and miss them very much. Hmmm... I should market a rotary cell phone.

    Night, Rodd.

    Fuzzy... nice kit.

I used American Safety Razor company blades in the GEMs. Are the Treets any different?

And were those razors both gold when they were originally made?

I have many many questions on SEs now. My interest has been piqued.

The daywork guys were at a training class all day, and it sat outside in <20° weather all day. We believe the fuel gelled, or moisture in the lines froze. They discovered this at 1300 hours. We came in at 1500 hours. At about 1700 hours, it finally got towed to the shop. They messed with it for a while, then called and said to bring up our reserve to change over. On our way there, they were able to finally get it warmed up enough and it stayed running. So we wound up not having to change over. w00t.

I do believe that the Treet are made by ASR also. I have found no difference in the different ASR blades. They were both nickel I believe. They do have the Gold tone 1912 with the heavy handle. That is the heaviest handle they made I am told. The gold one in my kit had a common handle on it. Not sure if you can make it out in the picture or not.

No that is my fingers outrunning my brain. it happen a lot.

Welcome to the darkside. :D I think the Treets are a bit sharper than the Gem/Personnas from Walgreens (which are the same as the Ted Pella Gems)

I want to order all the different SE blades on razorandbrush, except of course the two brands I already have. I'd also like to try the Feather SE blades. Do you guys know if they're as rough as the DE blades?

So the 1912 would be your favorite SE razor, Fuzzy?

Do you know the dates of production on the nickel ones and the lather catcher you sent me? I'm curious.

I picked up CVS brand blades. They had ASR markings on them. All of the other blades I've seen lately are also ASR. I'll be on the lookout, though.

Nope. Gem 1912 Travel and Micromatic. That's it. I love my 1912, and I'd swear the Treets are a bit sharper in it than the Gems. I do wish it had a larger handle on it though. I should have picked up that bent $5 one with the big handle the other day when I was up there....

Do you know, did the 1912s come in different sizes? I seem to think the bent one had a larger head, too, but now I can't fully recall....

My actual favorite is that lather catcher you have. A 1910 model. It is more aggressive shave for me, I love it. The 1912's were made through the 20's I think. Dave will have to clarify that. IN the 30's they made the micromatic as I understand it.

The 1912 is a great razor. Easy to use for newer also. I like the micromatic just fine. The newer ones are not that bad. Dave does not like plastic razors but the feather weights shave good to me. They have the same head that the G bar and push button has. nice shavers.

The head size on the travel and regular 1912 are the same.. the handels are different. The handles on the travel razors Ihave and on the Gem Junior , full size handle, will not interchange. If you have a travel head it will not take the longer handle. At least the 3 or 4 I have here will not.,

The Gems I picked up at Walgreens. They're called "Gem by Personna" I'll have to double check the packaging next time I'm there. I can't recall if they said ASR on the back or not, however I think they did.

The Treets I picked up at Rite Aid. They said "Treet Super" on the packaging. I'm pretty sure they did not say anything about being ASR related, at least not that I could recognize.

I have a Family Dollar nearby, I'll have to check them out for the PAL blades AsylumGuido was talking about.

I have used the pals.. they are nice also. I think the treets I have said ASR. they are in the green 5 pack. I will check when I get back to the store.
