OK, that's cool. I'm going to try some light sanding to see what happens. Have you been keeping up with that tumbling thread on SRP? If you don't have the media yet, I'd look at getting exactly what Glen (gssixguns) recommends. Others have tried different stuff, and no one seems to get the results Glen gets...

Thanks for the offer, I haven't been able to get my hands on one yet, and I want to get moving on these blades.

Anyone ever hear of Hyde SE blades? Haha, I found a plastic case (clear blue) of these in my basement, on my work bench. I imagine I picked them up at Home Depot/Lowes for my paint scraper.

Dare I try them? They look to be in great condition, but I doubt they're coated.

That's a long freaking thread, what did he say was best? I have crushed walnut shells and corn cobb pellets which is the standard media used in the tumblers

They look exactly like the CVS packaged ASR blades I bought.

Thanks again, Bong. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you.

Hmm... I had no problems. No hamburger face, no razorburn. Guess I was driving the truck correctly.

nevermind. Google definitely was my friend this time. It appears they may have come with my paint scraper, in the same package. "Heavy Duty Glass Scraper" doesn't sound comfortable on the face. Plus they may be oiled to prevent rusting. No wonder they still look good.

    Thank you Google!!!11!11!!!1

    Never heard of 'em.

Try them. I've heard of people getting great shaves from hardware store SE blades.

EDIT: I think. Or I may be making this up. I can't remember. Curse my memory.

RCBS brand walnut shell and corn cobb. The walnut shell is treated, which apparently helps. It seems most people have tried untreated with no luck. Also, I'd use the polishing compound he uses in the first page or two. Blue Magic, I think. His results turned out great, while when others have tried other things, not so good. RCBS has a website.

It is a very long thread. I read it all. And today it just got bumped back up...

Not yet. It may have come today, my wife's not necessarily the best letting me know I have a package at home waiting for me. I'll keep a look out, though.
