Today’s shave: 34c with Gillette yellow. Caties bubbles tonsorial parlour with Trumpers Lime Skin Food and Oglalla Bay Rum (Lime Peppercorn) AS.Cologne. DFS. I’ve been cold shaving the last week, and I really like it. The blade seems to tug a bit more each time though. The first shave was bliss, now it’s less “smooth”. However I’m getting next to zero alum burn nor irritation, which is great. The combination of the Trumpers and the Oglalla left me with a miraculous post shave feel. Unprecedented. Funny too, because the Oglalla burned like hell, until it didn’t. And then my face felt sublime. How you guys handling touch ups? I’ve been going over small patches 3 and 4 times, after the usual 2-3 passes. Is this normal?
Normal. Don't obsess on results, rather, focus on angle and pressure. Results follow skill. You're doing well.
Thread Hijack Throwback..... For the 30DC: For me and @Keithmax Samurai food for thought: At the end of the EBS warning in TV it doesn't say "We now return this television network to its normal operational state." However, it does say "We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming." Ever ponder that? You may know return to normal thread operation.
hello fello shavers, snowing again.. looks like a week off in total so far.. wife is at home ..so a valentines day shave it is..pulled out the #58 and loaded a gsb ,4th use i think,pears soap face wash loaded the simpson commodore full of wm neumanns 1907 soap,built a captains bowlful of slick peaky lather..yum..proceeded with a 2 pass combination shave with very minor pick ups..the 58 is a pretty version of the hd500 and it shaves very smooth and efficiently..cold water rinse and some tweaked thayers witch hazel with glycerine and menthol crystals.. feels good ..finished with burberry brit edt..happy valentines day everyone..gary
Dfs with no blood letting is good 25 shaves in. Keep up the practice and the good reports Joseph. My old 5s made posting pics here a lot easier here, the file size was smaller.
Not so true with the crap they are peddling these days. 5 blades and a can of their skin drying goo is about the worst thing for your skin. And at the prices they charge , I'll take something from their glory days combined with a 10 cent Russian blade. Dont even get me started on their last ad campaign. 02/14/2019 Shave Oneblade Synthetic Shaving Brush Salsa Bowl / Timeless bowl scuttle Stirling Noir Shave Soap Stirling Noir Aftershave Splash Nivea Sensitive Post Balm Voskhod Blade Rockwell 6S – Plate 5 I broke the SE February focus for today and brought out the much neglected Rockwell 6S. It was needing a little love on Valentines day. It is also my 33rd anniversary today as well. The Rockwell and Stirling performed well. A nice comfortable shave with no nicks or weepers. I finished up with some alum, Nivea post balm and Stirling Noir aftershave. This was an after work shave and then out the door to take the wife out for a bite. We had an enjoyable time out but some how my son wiggled his way into it. When I ask him about it he said that mama invited him. What can you do because mama loves her 22 year old baby boy. Y'all take care.
