Good question. Although the picture on the box does look like the Wardonia barrel hole blade I gather it will take a standard blade.
None of the users have mentioned the need to modify a blade, but if that's the case it's ok, I do that for my Wardonia without much difficulty.
They've gotten good reviews, but I'll find out in a few days and know for sure in a week or so from that. I like square toe shoes and use to wear square toe cowboy boots many years ago.
This: A member of another forum (I think he has an account here but is not very active) has been experimenting with chemical etching of razor caps. He expressed a willingness to do a few for other people on a "no guarantees" basis. I contacted him and he agreed to do one for me. This is actually a nickel-plated Tech cap (the gold color is apparently an artifact of the lighting) which has been engraved with an image of the USS Enterprise. (I explained that I was thinking of something Star Trek themed and he suggested this one). It is, as I understand it, the first Nickel-plated cap he has done (I provided him a bare brass one in case this failed.) and is the finest level of detail he has attempted. In gratitude, I agreed to let him PIF the brass cap with the winner's choice of custom artwork. I'm looking forward to getting this one into the Den. (And, yes, I know that a DE razor is much more reimagined BSG than Star Trek. Maybe if I ever get another one, I'll have the Galactica put on it. )
1914 Every Ready razor in case is on the way. The safety bar looks bent slightly but I think I can fix that. It was cheap and we will see how it cleans up.
Black tip super speed with a metal knob date code W3. These are the least common of the 3 black tip variations. They only made this variation far as I know with date codes W2 and W3.
Other 2 more common styles both with the plastic black knob, far as I know these were produced starting with W3 for the date codes.
The handle is the tell in this case, it looks like a regular 40s style super speed handle except for the black knob when the paint isn't worn off. The regular 40s style super speeds only show up in 51 with W1 and W2 date codes, these show up and overlap those at W2 and the last 2 black tip variations show up and overlap these all metal ones at W3 through X?
Awesome. That means the one I have is one also! It has a W2 date code and I was thought the knob was metal.
Nice piece and these are from what I've seen the least common of the 3 styles. This is the only one I haven't used yet so I have no idea if they changed the head geometry on these like they did with the other variants to be milder than the 40s style super speed.
Pair of shade 3 over-glasses. Some days the glare down here in Fla is horrible, I've heard these can help.
Didn't think I was going to win this. But I did by a $.09 margin... Dang, I am one heckuva "sniper". Now to figure out how to make it nice again...
