  1. I have more than a few PAA soaps. The pre CK1, not sure what this base was called, the CK1 and the CK6. In my opinion the big jump in performance was the switch from the pre CK1 to the CK1 base. The improvement from CK1 to CK6 aren't as dramatic but they are there. It comes down to the individual as to whether the extra cost is justified. For me, I'll probably buy the CK6 given the option.

  3. February 16th
    Razor: Timeless Bronze SB
Blade: Gillette 7:O'Clock Super Stainless (1)
    Brush: Grizzly Bay Constitution
    Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated
    Soap: PAA Boomtown Bay Rum
    Stirling Bay Rum witch hazel
    PAA Star Jelly unscented
    AS: PAA Boomtown Bay Rum

Wonderful shave this morning! Three passes to BBS result.

First use of the Gillette 7:Oclock Super Stainless. First impressions that these are mighty fine blades.

Have a great day, gentlemen! [IMG]

  5. Oh, I don't question the improvement. It's the "big" part that seems to get thrown around too easily.
  6. Day 43.

It's the triumphant return of the Ralf Aust! Glen did an awesome job resurrecting this ouched blade. I also sent along two if its Russian cousins for honing, so they will be getting some airtime soon too.

Three passes with the Ralf Aust, then the Micromatic to carry it across the finish line. No blood, no sting, no stubble. Couldn't ask for better.

  8. What I posted was based on my opinion. Others may have a differing opinion and it may be a "big" improvement to them. It's there opinion and I wouldn't call them out on it.

  18. i agree on the stress factor, the smooth shave, the scents and the me time all help me with stress relief..with carts the rash and bumps on my lower neck was embarrassing.."does this guy know how to shave?"not the best look when i was single either..
